The Battle of Karaba also known as both The Tragedy of Karaba, or The Engagement of Sorrow was a strategic engagement in the final years of the Zeon Civil War, fought between the Principality of Zeon and Zenora Empire, at Karaba Fortress. It came to be known as the first major engagement in the entire war to be witnessed by Tanaka's 18 year old daughter Sukia Marsha who rode with her father during the fighting.

Though the engagement ended in victory for the Principality of Zeon, the battle resulted into the Immediate death of Admiral Kycilia Zabi, along with all personal onboard Musai 121.

This Battle resulted into Zeon's vengeful ways which would later be revealed 5 years later during the Second Battle of Eris-7.
