One Year War[]
Testing the G-IV[]
Christina Mackenzie, a newly graduated pilot from the Federation Academy, was selected as the test pilot, or "shoe-fitter," for the RX-78NT-1 Gundam NT-1 due to her exceptional piloting skills.
Despite her lack of battlefield experience, her sharp instincts and ability to handle cutting-edge mobile suits made her an ideal candidate for evaluating the unit. She was initially stationed at Jaburo, where she analyzed the unit’s special learning computer, but was later transferred to the Federation's Montana Base. Her assignment there was to collaborate with members of the G-IV's testing unit to identify a suitable pilot before she was sent back into space with the Alex.
During her time at Montana Base, Chris was involved in the testing and maintenance of the G-IV. One of the prospective pilots, Chuck, displayed an overly impulsive and aggressive attitude, which raised concerns about his ability to control such an advanced mobile suit. When Chuck eagerly attempted to prove himself as the G-IV’s pilot, his overconfidence led Chris to physically subdue him in an arm lock, sternly reminding him of his limitations before allowing him to proceed with the test.
Her doubts about Chuck’s readiness soon proved valid. During his test run, he lost control of the G-IV’s thrust power, causing him to crash through the hangar roof and into the nearby forest. The incident forced the cancellation of the training mission, but to Chris’s horror, Chuck disregarded orders and chose to engage an Argon unit, which was meant to assist in the exercise.
She quickly realized that Chuck had inadvertently activated and synchronized with the G-IV’s learning computer—identical to the one in the Alex—which could not differentiate between training exercises and real combat. This synchronization posed a severe risk, as a continued fight could lead to unintended casualties. Racing to the scene with Yuki Nishioka, a fellow testing unit member, Chris intervened just in time, throwing herself into Chuck’s line of fire as he prepared to attack an MS-09 Dom from the test unit. Her direct approach successfully de-escalated the situation, and she managed to disarm Chuck and bring the mission under control.
Following Chuck’s failed attempt, the G-IV was reassigned to another test pilot, Margaret, whom Chris quickly befriended. Margaret was to oversee the G-IV’s final test before its scheduled transfer to the Arctic Base.
However, during the exercise, Margaret mysteriously disappeared, and communications with the G-IV were completely cut off. The only trace of the mobile suit was its abandoned backpack, found near a lake. As the base descended into chaos, another crisis unfolded—an unknown virus had been uploaded into the Alex, rendering it inoperable. Chuck, who had last seen Margaret opening the G-IV’s cockpit before its disappearance, believed something was amiss, while Yuki suspected a system malfunction. With the Federation soldiers awaiting orders to begin an official search once the weather cleared, Chris took matters into her own hands. Ignoring protocol, she entered a refurbished MS-06 Zaku II and embarked on a personal mission to locate Margaret, accompanied by Yuki, who followed by jeep.
As she continued her search, Chris detected an unusual dispersion of Minovsky particles, an indication that Zeon forces were in the area and actively interfering with her efforts. She soon found herself under attack by three enemy Zakus positioned above her, firing from Fat Uncles in the sky.
With only a heat hawk for close-quarters combat, she was forced to take cover beneath the terrain. Fortunately, Chuck—despite his past recklessness—arrived in time to provide fire support, successfully shooting down the enemy aircraft with his RX-75 Guntank.
With the aerial threat neutralized, Chris engaged and defeated the remaining Zakus in ground combat.
When she finally located Margaret, Chris was stunned to discover that Chuck’s suspicions had been correct—Margaret was a Zeon spy. The revelation left Chris with no choice but to confront her former friend in battle. The two pilots engaged in a fierce duel, but after a prolonged deadlock, Margaret managed to land a strike on Chris’s Zaku’s cockpit, knocking her unconscious.
Just as Margaret prepared to deal a final blow, she hesitated and opened her own cockpit to examine Chris’s mobile suit up close. This moment of hesitation proved fatal, as Yuki, observing from a distance, took the opportunity to eliminate Margaret with a precise sniper shot.
Despite sustaining injuries in the encounter, Chris refused to stand down. She volunteered to replace Margaret as the G-IV’s official test pilot, but her request was initially denied by the base commanders, who viewed "shoe-fitters" as expendable and unqualified for full-fledged piloting roles.
However, in an unexpected turn, the Argon unit—who had previously refused to assist in her search for Margaret—stepped in to endorse Chris, pressuring the commanders to approve her assignment. Their support ultimately secured her position as the G-IV’s test pilot, with Yuki officially appointed as her assistant.
Now designated as the primary test pilot, Chris was assigned to the North Pole, where she and Yuki were scheduled to join the transport to Side 6.
Operation Rubicon[]
Christina "Chris" Mackenzie continued running simulations with the Gundam NT-1 Alex under the supervision of its engineers. However, both Chris and the engineers acknowledged that the suit was far too sensitive for her to operate effectively, as she was not a Newtype.
Chris was born and raised in the Ribo Colony of Side 6, a neutral space colony that secretly housed a Federation mobile suit research and development facility.
Chris was a close friend and neighbor of Alfred "Al" Izuruha, whom she had babysat when he was younger, making her the closest thing to a big sister in his life. At the beginning of Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket, she returned to Side 6 from Earth and was assigned to collect field data for the experimental NT-1 unit, which had been specifically designed for a pilot from the White Base crew. Upon her arrival, she encountered Al just as he was coming home.
At first, he did not recognize her, but after a brief interaction, the two reconnected. When it suddenly started to rain, Al helped her gather the possessions she had accidentally dropped, carrying them into her house. Grateful for his help, Chris invited Al inside, dried him off, and gave him a fresh shirt to wear while his own clothes dried. They then shared tea together, catching up on old times.
One evening, Chris noticed a young man sneaking around Al's house. Assuming he was a burglar, she acted swiftly, knocking him unconscious from behind with a baseball bat. To her surprise, the man was Bernard "Bernie" Wiseman, whom Al insisted was his "older brother." Though their initial meeting was rough, Chris and Bernie quickly formed a bond. If her parents’ reactions were any indication, it was clear that there was an attraction between them. However, Chris concealed the true nature of her work, claiming she was merely a data analyst rather than a test pilot for the Gundam Alex.
Unbeknownst to Chris, Bernie was actually a Zeon soldier and the newest member of the elite Cyclops Team, tasked with infiltrating Side 6 to locate and destroy the NT-1 Alex before it could be deployed. After sneaking into the Federation facility, Bernie and his team attempted to carry out their mission.
However, a critical mistake on Bernie’s part led to the facility’s security discovering them, triggering an intense battle inside the base.
Meanwhile, another member of the Cyclops Team, Mikhail Kaminsky, launched an assault on the Federation forces using his MS-18E Kämpfer. The powerful mobile suit tore through multiple Federation GM units, prompting the urgent deployment of the Gundam NT-1 Alex. Chris was called into action and, despite the Cyclops Team’s efforts, the Alex remained mostly intact. She piloted the mobile suit into battle against Kaminsky, who had already exhausted most of his arsenal.
During their fight, Kaminsky managed to destroy the Gundam Alex’s Chobham Armor using a chain mine, exposing its inner frame. However, Chris capitalized on his weakened state, unleashing a barrage of gatling gun fire that pierced the Kämpfer’s thin armor, ultimately destroying it. Shortly after her battle, Chris received a leaked photograph showing an unknown Zeon operative—codenamed Dark Thunder—conducting reconnaissance on the Gundam Alex while simultaneously attacking a nearby research center. The orders for this operation had come from Kycilia Zabi and Steiner Hardy, the leader of the now-deceased Cyclops Team, although Dark Thunder remained unaware of their deaths, save for Bernie.
Realizing the threat posed by Dark Thunder, whom she later identified as Heirshy, Chris disobeyed direct orders from her superiors, who repeatedly warned her that she was not a trained pilot and lacked the necessary skills to engage such a formidable opponent. Ignoring their commands, she muted her communications and set off in the Gundam Alex to intercept Heirshy before he could move on to his next target: Concor.
When Chris confronted Heirshy, he was taken aback by the sudden appearance of the NT-1 Alex, referring to it as the "New Federation Monster." Bewildered at how she had tracked him down, he was even more surprised when Chris coldly informed him that his squad was dead and that she was the only one standing between him and his mission. To her shock, Heirshy laughed and dismissed the deaths of the Cyclops Team, calling them "assholes" who had treated their youngest member—Bernie—like garbage. He sarcastically thanked her for taking them out before dropping the data computer he had stolen. Without hesitation, both pilots readied themselves for battle.
Their duel was fierce, and Chris managed to hold her own against Heirshy for a time. However, her inexperience eventually became apparent, and Heirshy gained the upper hand. Exploiting a structural weakness in the NT-1 Alex, he fired a well-placed shot that disabled the suit entirely, causing it to collapse. The impact severely injured Chris, leaving her momentarily dazed but still conscious. Through her cockpit camera, she watched in disbelief as Heirshy approached her immobilized mobile suit. Expecting him to finish her off, she braced for the worst.
Instead, Heirshy surprised her. Removing his helmet, he revealed his face and offered her unexpected words of respect. He praised her bravery and skill, telling her, "You're a great warrior, but you still have much to learn. Never stop fighting, and never give up on the ones you love." Before Chris could respond, Federation ground forces arrived on the scene. Without another word, Heirshy replaced his helmet and escaped the area, vanishing from Side 6—never to return.
Post Rubicon[]
Despite her success, Christina is harshly reprimanded by her superiors for engaging in combat within an urban area. Although she argues that her intervention prevented even greater casualties, her justification is dismissed.
Her case is further weakened by the fact that the Gundam Alex was disabled during the battle, rendering her unable to continue fighting. Additionally, her reckless decision to challenge Heirshy, one of Zeon's most formidable and notoriously unkillable soldiers—who had earned his fearsome reputation since Operation Odessa—only solidifies her superiors' disapproval.
As a direct consequence of her actions, Christina is cruelly confined to her quarters, a punishment she finds utterly infuriating. For two long days, she remains under strict orders, unable to participate in the ongoing conflict.
However, as Operation Christmas approaches, she refuses to sit idly by. On the night of December 23rd, UC 0079, driven by defiance and remembering Heirshy’s ominous words, Christina makes a daring decision. She sneaks aboard the Gundam Alex once more, disobeying orders yet again, determined to take action despite the risks.
Operation Christmas[]
Bernie, the last surviving member of his team following a brutal battle, launches a desperate, lone assault against the Gundam Alex in his Zaku II in a final bid to complete his mission. At the same time, Chris, piloting the Gundam, sorties to engage the enemy, determined to defend her position. Despite having the tactical advantage of fighting in an open, flat terrain where her Gundam’s superior mobility and firepower could easily overpower the Zaku, she deliberately chooses to engage Bernie in a forested area to minimize the risk of collateral damage and protect nearby civilians.
Once inside the dense woodland, Bernie enacts a calculated strategy, deploying large Christmas balloons and smoke bombs to obscure Chris's vision and disorient her.
This tactic allows him to close the distance, leveraging the Zaku's heat axe in melee combat, where the disparity between their machines is less pronounced.
Despite his efforts, Chris manages to land a glancing blow on Bernie's cockpit with her beam rifle, but he retaliates by delivering a devastating strike with his heat axe, severing one of the Gundam Alex’s arms and damaging its cockpit.
Determined to finish the battle, Bernie tackles the Gundam, sending both mobile suits tumbling down the forested hillside. As they recover, the combatants charge at each other for a final, decisive clash. In the heat of the moment, Chris thrusts her beam saber into the Zaku's cockpit, unknowingly striking Bernie with a fatal blow. The Zaku is consumed in an explosion, the force of which also disables the Gundam Alex, which had already lost its main camera due to an earlier strike from the heat axe.
Al, who had been desperately rushing to intervene and prevent the tragic confrontation, arrives just moments too late. Instead of stopping the battle, he is left to witness its heartbreaking aftermath—the wreckage of Bernie's Zaku, the damaged Gundam Alex, and the grim realization that the very fight he wished to prevent has already claimed his friend’s life.
Post One Year War[]
Post Christmas and Quitting the Military[]

The Final Picture of Christina Mackenzie taken in March UC 0080, she would go on to quit the Military hours after this Picture was taken to pursue Traveling...
After a brief period of recovery, Christina "Chris" Mackenzie departs from the space colony and returns to Earth. Before leaving, she shares a heartfelt farewell with Alfred "Al" Izuruha, asking him to relay her goodbyes to Bernard "Bernie" Wiseman. However, Al chooses to keep the tragic truth to himself—that Bernie had been killed in battle.
Nearly three months after her departure, Chris writes a letter to Al, inquiring about Bernie’s well-being and reminiscing about their unusual first meeting, where she accidentally struck him with a baseball bat. She expresses lingering regret over the incident but maintains a fondness for the memory. Now that peace is gradually being restored, she confesses uncertainty about when she will be able to leave the military but shares her hopes of reuniting with Al and Bernie one day. She also dreams of traveling to new places, seeking a fresh start away from the turmoil of war.
Eventually, Chris makes the decision to leave the military behind entirely. On March 29th, UC 0080, she officially resigns from service and embarks on a new chapter of her life. Embracing a more peaceful existence, she becomes a traveler, exploring the world in pursuit of new experiences and self-discovery. Ultimately, she settles in North America, where she finds purpose in a civilian career, becoming an elementary school teacher and dedicating herself to guiding the next generation.
Despite moving on, the memories of her time in the colony, her friendship with Al, and the loss of Bernie remain with her, shaping the person she has become in the post-war era.
Learning of the Truth of Bernard Wiseman[]
More than five years after the end of the One Year War, Christina Mackenzie receives an unexpected visit from an AI she had not seen since leaving Side 6. During their conversation, she learns the tragic truth about her former love interest, Bernard Wiseman.
Unbeknownst to her at the time, Bernard had not only played a critical role in leading the attack that resulted in the destruction of the Gundam Alex but was also an active member of the Principality of Zeon. This revelation devastates Christina, as she realizes she was the one who unknowingly killed him during Operation Christmas.
Haunted by this painful truth and still burdened by the lingering echoes of Herschy’s words, Christina takes a deep breath and responds to the AI with a quiet but resolute acceptance. She thanks the AI for its honesty in revealing what truly happened to Bernard and reassures that she has come to terms with the past.
While the events of Operation Christmas left her deeply scarred, she credits a particular half-man, half-machine warrior—whom she once fought against and was ultimately defeated by during Operation Rubicon on December 20, UC 0079—with helping her find the strength to move forward. Through the trials of war and the ghosts of her past, Christina Mackenzie has finally begun to heal.
Return to the Earth Federation[]
Over the next six years, Christina gradually rekindled her interest in the military, though she did not officially re-enlist until UC 0090. During this period, spanning from UC 0084 to UC 0090, she dedicated herself to extensive research on Heirshy AKA Black Thunder, the formidable warrior she had once faced during the events of Operation Rubicon.
Despite their battle in December UC 0079, Christina harbored a concealed admiration for Heirshy, particularly for his honor and combat prowess.
His decision to spare her life on December 20, UC 0079, along with the rare praise he offered her—something she had never received from her own superiors—only deepened her fascination with him. This admiration evolved into an obsessive desire to challenge him once again, though this time, she longed to do so during peacetime, not as an enemy but as a warrior eager to prove how much she had grown.
Driven by this ambition, Christina re-enlisted in the Earth Federation Military on May 2, UC 0090, at the age of 32. This time, however, she chose to pursue her career as a Mobile Suit pilot. Once again, she distinguished herself by graduating at the top of her class, earning the prestigious position of the official pilot for the Raven Gundam—a cutting-edge Mobile Suit that had just rolled off the production line at Jaburo. Despite her achievements, Christina sought an unconventional path.
Rather than fully integrating into the Earth Federation Military’s standard command structure, she formally requested to operate as an independent pilot while maintaining her affiliation with the Federation. Her request was granted on February 2, UC 0091, allowing her to function as an autonomous soldier while still enjoying the resources and support of the Earth Federation.
From that point forward, Christina embarked on a personal mission—continuing her relentless pursuit of Heirshy.
She sought to track him down, not only for the sake of a rematch but also to deepen her understanding of him. As she balanced her independent operations with her research, her journey became one of self-discovery, growth, and an unshakable fixation on the warrior who had once left a lasting impression on her.
Hunt for Heirshy[]
Over the course of five years following her return to the Earth Federation, Christina ("Chris") embarked on a relentless quest to locate Heirshy.
During this time, she uncovered shocking betrayals that had taken place within the Principality of Zeon during the One Year War. Through her investigation, Chris learned that Heirshy had been backstabbed in Odessa by both Ramba Ral and Dales, a revelation that left her deeply disturbed.
To make matters worse, she discovered that Heirshy had been betrayed yet again—this time by the renowned Ace Pilot Johnny Ridden. These revelations fueled Chris’s growing anger and disgust toward Zeon's internal treachery.
Determined to find Heirshy, Chris eventually reunited with AI in UC 0095, an old ally with whom she shared a past. Their reunion was a moment of nostalgia, as they reminisced about their past experiences while AI welcomed her back to the Earth Federation—after she had originally left in March, UC 0080. During their conversation, Chris learned that the Principality of Zeon had not been completely eradicated after the war. Instead, they had survived in isolation since the early 0080s, though under strict limitations that forbade them from maintaining a military presence.
Hopeful that she could finally reunite with Heirshy, Christina attempted to purchase a ticket to Side 3, only to be met with disappointment.
Her request was denied due to the fall of the Republic of Zeon and the Principality's complete reoccupation of Side 3, which had since been declared off-limits. The colony was now a restricted zone, part of the newly established Zeon Space, which had been enforced since the late UC 0080s.
With Side 3 rendered inaccessible, Christina spent the next two years attempting to get Heirshy to meet her in Earth’s space. However, her efforts were met with silence. Unbeknownst to her, Heirshy was caught in the midst of the escalating Zeon Civil War, leaving him unable to respond. As the conflict intensified, the Principality of Zeon found itself under relentless attack from an unknown enemy.
Christina became aware of the war’s impact while aboard an Earth Federation frigate bound for Side 6. As she gazed out into space, she witnessed the lower ruins of A Baoa Qu explode, signaling the magnitude of the ongoing conflict.
Two days later, she participated in the Earth Federation’s investigation into the debris field, where she uncovered several critical clues about the battle. Among the wreckage, she found Heirshy's official helmet, lost in the explosion. Recognizing its significance, she kept her findings to herself and returned to her hometown in Side 6, where she analyzed the data stored within the helmet.
Through her research, Chris pieced together the gruesome details of the battle at the ruined A Baoa Qu, which finally explained why she had been unable to locate Heirshy. However, while the discovery confirmed his involvement in the war, it failed to provide his precise location.
Now armed with the knowledge that the Principality of Zeon was still operational and engaged in a full-scale war with an unidentified enemy, Christina made a bold decision. Despite not receiving any orders, she prepared to infiltrate Zeon Space to find Heirshy herself.
By May, UC 0097, Christina successfully tracked down Side 3, which had been moved far beyond the Zeon-Earth border zone. Disguised as a Zeon soldier, she infiltrated the colony in hopes of finally finding Heirshy. However, she was unaware that at that exact time, Operation Nexus Storm had already been executed, and Heirshy was en route to Side-9.
Determined to gain more information, Christina infiltrated the Zeon Parliament, where she uncovered details of Operation Nexus Storm and realized that she was four days too late—Heirshy had already departed for Side-9. However, she now had a confirmed location. Wasting no time, she left Side 3 undetected, piloting her Raven Gundam and setting course for Side-9, using downloadable map files she had obtained during her infiltration.
Upon arrival at Side-9, she found herself thrust into the middle of an intense battle between the Principality of Zeon and the Zenora Empire.
Forced to fight her way through the chaos, she engaged in combat amidst the war in space. By June 1st, UC 0097, Heirshy had already entered the colony, making it even more urgent for her to reach him.
Determined to complete her mission, Christina executed a covert entry into Side-9 two days later, on June 3rd, UC 0097. Using an open hatch, she slipped into the colony unnoticed and soon found herself directly involved in the Battle of Side-9, taking part as an anomalous Mobile Suit pilot.
As the war raged on, Christina's journey was far from over. What lay ahead would not only determine Heirshy’s fate but also decide the future of Zeon itself.
Zeon Civil War[]
Battle of Side-9[]
Amidst the chaos of battle, Chris navigated through the smoldering ruins of Side-9, carefully maneuvering through the Zenora forces while attempting to avoid any encounters with the Zeon military. She feared that Zeon soldiers might mistake her for a Zenora operative, leading to unnecessary conflict.
As she pressed forward, she managed to eliminate a Zenora patrol in the ruins of Fowlerville. It was during this engagement that she intercepted a critical transmission: Zenora forces were mobilizing toward Eurwin City, surrounding the remnants of the Principality of Zeon.
Realizing that Heirshy might be among those trapped, Chris made a daring push through the Zenora front lines before their encirclement was complete.
However, her mobile suit sustained heavy damage in the process, leaving her unable to continue the fight. With no other choice, she retreated into No Man’s Land, where she remained hidden while attempting to make necessary repairs. Unfortunately, lacking the technical expertise to restore her Gundam to operational status, she was forced to take a significant risk—venturing into Zeon-controlled territory for assistance. Upon crossing into Zeon lines, she was initially met with hostility, as the Zeon soldiers suspected her of being a Zenora agent.
However, after verifying her identity and confirming that she held no allegiance to Zenora, they allowed her to remain. Due to her independent status, the Zeon military remained unaware of her Earth Federation ties. Showing unexpected kindness, they agreed to assist her in repairing her mobile suit.
On June 5th, UC 0079, a team of Zeon engineers successfully restored her Gundam to working order within a day. When she inquired about their ability to repair such a modernized mobile suit, Chief Mechanic Milo Yale of the 4th Zeon Mechanized Battalion cryptically revealed that they had received advanced training early in the war during UC 0096. However, he refused to disclose the identity of their instructor.
On the same day, the Principality of Zeon launched a decisive counteroffensive. Their forces successfully crossed No Man’s Land, breaking through Zenora’s siege of Eurwin City. The operation culminated in the reclamation of Patsakio, dealing a major blow to Zenora’s control over Averkara and significantly weakening their grip on Side-9. In the aftermath of this victory, Chris continued to operate in secret under the directive of Lieutenant Sarah Hal of Zeon’s 44th Mobile Suit Battalion. To maintain discretion, Hal officially labeled Chris as a mercenary for hire rather than an allied combatant.
Following the Zeon breakthrough at the Arba River, Chris sought out Hal at her headquarters in the ruins of Eurwin, where she inquired about Heirshy’s whereabouts. In response, Hal provided her with the coordinates of Heirshy’s location, revealing that Zeon had installed a tracking transponder within his torso back in UC 0069—years before the war had even begun. This measure had been taken as a precaution, ensuring that Zeon could monitor his status and react if necessary.
With this newfound information, Chris felt a surge of excitement at the prospect of reuniting with Heirshy. Though the reunion was not under peaceful circumstances as she had once hoped, she still longed to see him again—especially to test her combat skills against him after thirteen years apart. However, her hopes of a friendly duel were quickly dashed.
As she approached Heirshy’s last known location, Chris was met with the chilling sounds of intense combat within the Ocossa Forest on the night of June 9th, UC 0097. By the time she arrived, she was horrified to find Heirshy lying on his back, critically wounded. His helmet was shattered, revealing his face, which was bloodied and broken. His body was severely damaged, barely holding together as Zenora forces encircled him, ready to deliver the final blow. A Zenora soldier leveled a blaster at Heirshy’s head, intending to execute him.
Enraged, Chris made her presence known by charging through the treeline in her Raven Gundam. She engaged the Zenora forces in a furious battle, systematically destroying each and every one of them in a relentless assault.
Once the enemy was eliminated, she dropped her saber and rushed to Heirshy’s side, cradling his battered body in the arms of her mobile suit. She called out his name, but his injuries were so severe that he could barely comprehend his surroundings. In a weakened voice, he uttered a simple question: "Who’s there...?"
Chris, her heart heavy with emotion, responded softly, “A friend.”
In that moment, a faint sound caught her attention—a communication device crackling to life from the wreckage of a destroyed Zaku II. Gently laying Heirshy down, she retrieved the radio and immediately relayed his coordinates to Zeon command, urgently calling for reinforcements.
Recognizing the severity of the situation, Zeon forces quickly dispatched Char Aznable and his team to extract Heirshy from the battlefield. Returning to Heirshy’s side, Chris removed his helmet, revealing the full extent of his injuries. His face was covered in deep scars, and a large portion of his eye was missing. The gruesome sight nearly caused Chris to retch inside the cockpit of her Gundam, but she forced herself to remain composed. Overcome with emotion, she held him protectively, speaking to him in a desperate attempt to keep him conscious.
At that moment, Chris made the decision to reveal herself completely. Opening the cockpit of her Raven Gundam, she removed her own helmet, allowing Heirshy to see her face.
Despite his injuries, Heirshy’s remaining eye widened in amazement. As he looked at her, fragmented memories from the past surfaced in his mind. A weak smile formed on his lips as he spoke through his damaged voice: “I-I have seen you before… December 20th, UC 0079… Side 6… Operation Rubicon… Glorious times…” His voice faltered as he coughed up oil and sparks, his body struggling to hold on. In a final moment of warmth, he whispered, “It’s good seeing you again.”
With that, Heirshy lost consciousness in the arms of Chris’ Gundam Raven.
Tears welled up in Chris’ eyes as she desperately screamed for anyone to come and help him before it was too late. Her pleas were answered moments later as the sound of thrusters roared through the forest. Emerging from the treeline, Char Aznable arrived in his Sazabi, leading a Zeon recovery unit.
As Chris turned to face him, she was taken aback. She had believed Char to be dead, lost in the aftermath of the Third Neo Zeon War in UC 0093.
However, the legendary Red Comet simply smirked and countered, "I didn’t die. I disappeared and was declared MIA. There’s a difference." With reinforcements now on-site, Heirshy’s fate rested in Zeon’s hands. Chris, still processing everything that had transpired, could only watch as the legendary ace pilot Char Aznable took control of the situation, bringing yet another unexpected twist to the battle for Side-9.
Reunion At Last[]

Christina Mackenzie transmitting a message to Zeon Forces all across Side-9 on June 10th, UC 0097 where she discusses Heirshy's condition and how she is overlooking his progress while onboard the Musai Cruiser Tokogayian....
By June 10th, UC 0097, Christina Mackenzie transmitted a series of messages to the forces of the Principality of Zeon, who were still unaware of her true identity. In these communications, she informed them about the fate of Heirshy, who had been critically injured in the Ocossa Ambush and subsequently evacuated from the battlefield aboard the Musai-class Cruiser Tokogayian. She provided updates on his condition during his recovery, ensuring Zeon forces still engaged in the battle on Side-9 were informed of his status.
On June 11th, UC 0097, Christina finally revealed her identity to the Zeon forces. Wearing her old Earth Federation uniform from the One Year War, she recounted, in vivid detail, why she had chosen to save Heirshy despite having hunted him for the past seven years. She explained how their fateful duel on December 20th, UC 0079, had permanently altered the course of her life. That battle had forced her to reconsider her perspective on the Principality of Zeon, to the extent that she made the decision to rejoin the military in UC 0090—this time as a fully trained mobile suit pilot. Since then, she had been on a relentless quest to track down Heirshy, an endeavor that had culminated in this very moment.
Following her revelation, Christina remained by Heirshy's side during his recovery, spending the next three days in conversation with him. She spoke openly about her life after the One Year War, detailing how Heirshy had, unknowingly, been the driving force behind her transformation into a hardened soldier.
In response, Heirshy expressed his gratitude, acknowledging the incredible lengths she had gone to just to see him again. However, he urged her to return to the Earth Federation, warning that this was not her war—the battlefield she had entered was nothing like the conflict she once knew. Christina simply smiled and giggled, dismissing his concerns with a playful remark:
"I still have unfinished business with you, hun. Plus, I'm already here, and the Principality of Zeon has accepted me as one of their own. So, sorry, but I'm not going anywhere."
Heirshy could only chuckle and shake his head in mild disapproval, muttering under his breath:
"Women."
Christina laughed, pointing at him playfully before winking:
"Women indeed. You better get used to me, Heirshy—you’re not getting rid of me that easily."
By June 14th, UC 0097, Heirshy—despite not being fully recovered from his injuries—was officially cleared for combat duty. Determined to rejoin the fight, he returned to Side-9, where Zeon forces were mounting their final offensive against Fort Concade, the last remaining Zenora stronghold on the colony.
Although Christina vehemently protested, urging him to stay behind and continue his recovery, Heirshy respectfully but firmly convinced her to let him go. Reluctantly, she agreed—but in secret, she followed him aboard the Gundam Raven, determined to protect him from the shadows.
When Heirshy confronted her about why she had come, Christina’s response was simple yet cryptic:
"I'm sorry, Heirshy, but I won’t allow you to get killed. I need you alive for the future."
Though puzzled by her words, Heirshy ultimately allowed her to accompany him into battle. Together, they took part in Zeon’s final push toward Fort Concade, a grueling battle that would decide the fate of Side-9. After an intense struggle, the Zenora forces were finally defeated, and the Principality of Zeon successfully liberated the colony, ending nine months of occupation.
Battle of the Demarco Debris Field[]
In the months following the liberation of Side-9, Chris began documenting her experiences in a personal journal, detailing her time serving as an independent Mobile Suit pilot under the command of Sarah Hal within the Principality of Zeon. Although she operated independently, Chris longed to fight alongside Heirshy as his wingman.
However, Heirshy initially refused, still grappling with the grief of losing Panamla, who had tragically perished on May 21st, UC 0097. Chris was unaware of this devastating event until much later, and the revelation deeply shocked her.
Despite Heirshy's rejection, Chris accepted his decision without resentment and instead was reassigned to Javelin Squadron, under the leadership of Luis Treble.
There, she participated in the prolonged struggle for control over Demarco's Ruined Debris Field, a critical but heavily contested battleground. The fighting dragged on for three grueling months, with neither side able to gain a decisive advantage. Eventually, on November 1st, UC 0097, the Principality of Zeon emerged victorious, securing the debris field.
However, their hard-fought victory came at a cost—the critical window of opportunity to launch an offensive against Sierra Colony had closed. As a result, Zeon found itself engaged in yet another brutal campaign, reminiscent of the battle at Side-9.
Throughout the prolonged conflict, Chris continued to prove herself as a capable and determined pilot. Her persistence and dedication did not go unnoticed, and by October 20th, UC 0097, Heirshy finally accepted her as his wingman. This decision brought Chris immense joy, as it signified both her growth as a pilot and Heirshy's willingness to move forward despite his past losses. Their partnership on the battlefield would soon play a crucial role in the battles yet to come.
Second Duel with Heirshy[]
During the early days of the Liberation of Sierra Colony, Heirshy was initially eager to participate in the main conflict. However, his ambitions were temporarily halted by Chris, who had a different strategic plan in mind. Rather than having Heirshy engage directly in the primary battle, she proposed an alternative: they would flank the enemy by targeting Zenora forces around the Bogone Asteroid Field, a treacherous area surrounding Sierra Colony. This maneuver would create an opening in the enemy’s defensive lines, allowing Admiral Kycilia’s fleet to advance unimpeded into the colony.
Recognizing the tactical advantage, Heirshy agreed to the plan, and together, they launched an assault on Zenora’s positions within the asteroid field. The battle was fierce, with enemy forces using the dense asteroid formations for cover and ambush tactics. Despite the challenging terrain, Heirshy and Chris systematically cleared out the opposition, eliminating the Zenora forces and securing the route for the Zeon fleet. Their success proved instrumental in turning the tide of the engagement, ensuring Kycilia's fleet could move in unchallenged.
As the dust settled and the adrenaline of battle began to fade, Heirshy turned to commend Chris for her strategic foresight. However, instead of responding, she remained eerily silent, standing still in her Gundam Raven. Sensing something was off, Heirshy watched as she finally spoke.
"You know, Dark Thunder," she began, using Heirshy’s old callsign. "I’ve always remembered our first encounter... back during Operation Rubicon."
Heirshy was momentarily taken aback, confused by the sudden shift in conversation. Before he could reply, he saw Chris gripping her laser saber.
"And now, here we are, 13 years later—standing face to face, just like back then," she continued, her voice laced with a mix of nostalgia and determination.
Heirshy tried to piece together what she was implying, but before he could fully process it, she made her intentions clear.
"For years, I trained to become a pilot. Your words that day pushed me forward, made me stronger. Now, I want to show you how much I’ve learned—how much I’ve improved."
Before he could react, Chris lunged at him, her laser saber slashing toward his mobile suit. He barely managed to evade the strike, the energy blade grazing dangerously close. Realizing that she was challenging him to a duel, Heirshy accepted without hesitation, though he was still puzzled by her sudden declaration.
The battle between the two pilots was intense. Unlike their first encounter at Side 6, where Heirshy had easily overpowered her, this time Chris proved to be a much more formidable opponent. She had sharpened her skills over the years, pushing Heirshy harder than before. She managed to land several blows, even causing significant damage to his mobile suit.
However, experience ultimately prevailed. Seizing an opening, Heirshy kicked Chris’s mobile suit’s legs out from under her, sending her off balance. As she attempted to recover, he swiftly disarmed her, shooting the laser saber out of her hands, ending the duel.
Breathing heavily, Chris stared at her lost weapon, frustration and admiration mixed in her expression. Heirshy, ever the mentor, smiled and praised her improvement.
"That was impressive," he admitted. "You're getting stronger. Keep training, and next time, who knows? You might even beat me."
Chris grinned at the encouragement, acknowledging his words as they both returned to their base, the Tokogaiyan, with a newfound sense of camaraderie and respect.
Norenburg Raid Duel[]
On December 4th, UC 0097, Heirshy led a daring raid on Norenburg, targeting a critical Zenora fuel station that was supplying the Zenora Fleet. Accompanying him in the mission was Chris, alongside the legendary Char Aznable. The operation’s primary objective was to cripple the Zenora supply chain, and Char successfully executed the station’s destruction before descending onto Sierra Colony. His secondary goal was to support Zeon ground forces, who were heavily outnumbered and pinned down in the city of Norenburg—a settlement named after the very station orbiting Sierra Colony.
During the intense battle, Christina’s Raven Gundam sustained severe damage. Caught in the crossfire, she suffered significant injuries, rendering her unable to continue the fight. However, Char and Heirshy intervened, rescuing her from the battlefield and transporting her back to the Tokogaiyan, where she received urgent medical treatment.
Christina remained in recovery for the next nine days, finally regaining her strength by December 13th, UC 0097. Meanwhile, her Raven Gundam underwent extensive repairs following the ambush and was restored to full operational status by December 10th, ensuring her swift return to combat readiness.
The raid on Norenburg proved to be a pivotal strike against the Zenora forces, further destabilizing their presence in the region and providing much-needed relief to Zeon’s ground troops.
Third Duel with Heirshy[]
While Heirshy was stationed on the surface within Sierra Colony, an unexpected visit from Christina Mackenzie took him by surprise at Fort Tongoda. She had come with the intention of challenging him to another sparring match, eager to test her progress against the formidable warrior.
Being in friendly territory, Heirshy agreed to the duel, this time under the watchful eye of Char Aznable, who had recently arrived in the area. Char, intrigued by Christina’s development over her months within the Principality of Zeon, was interested in witnessing firsthand how far she had come.
Before the duel commenced, Christina confidently placed a wager: if she won, Heirshy would have to join her for lunch. This lighthearted challenge prompted Char to chuckle, commenting from the sidelines that Heirshy couldn't eat. Despite the remark, Heirshy accepted the bet, and the two combatants prepared for battle.
At the onset of the duel, Heirshy utilized his signature tactics from the One Year War, initially gaining the upper hand. His skillful maneuvers and battle-hardened experience kept Christina on the defensive.
However, as the fight progressed, it became clear that she had meticulously studied his attack patterns. Her movements grew sharper, her counters more precise, and soon, she was effectively deflecting and anticipating most of Heirshy’s strikes.
At a critical moment, Heirshy attempted to exploit a weakness in her Gundam Raven’s torso, but Christina swiftly dodged the attack. Seizing the opportunity, she maneuvered behind him in an attempt to land a decisive slash through his back.
However, Heirshy, demonstrating his honed reflexes, countered with his own saber, deflecting the blow. Their battle continued in an intense clash of skill and precision for ten minutes, with neither willing to yield.
Finally, in a bold and unexpected move, Christina tackled Heirshy from behind, knocking him off balance and securing her victory. As she dismounted, Char observed the duel with an amused smile, clearly entertained by the engagement.
Rather than expressing frustration over his defeat, Heirshy sat up and gazed at Christina with a proud smile. "You've grown up well, young Mackenzie," he remarked warmly. "You’ve truly proven yourself since our last encounter thirteen years ago. You have learned well, Today, you finally got your payback for December 20th. I’ve never been prouder of a noble warrior worthy opponent."
His words touched Christina deeply, causing her to blush and tear up. Meanwhile, Char, still watching from within the cockpit of his Sazabi, let out a hearty laugh. "I think you may have found a replacement for Panamala, Heirshy," he teased, further adding to the lighthearted yet meaningful atmosphere of the moment.
A Honorable Date[]
Following her first-ever victory in a duel against Heirshy, Christina Mackenzie decided to take him on a stroll through the streets of Norenburg on December 11th, the day after their intense battle. Dressed elegantly in a stunning black dress, with makeup and eyeliner accentuating her features, she found herself deeply engaged in conversation with her former opponent. As they walked, Heirshy took it upon himself to educate Chris about the struggles of the Principality of Zeon after the One Year War, the origins of the Zeon Civil War, and the history of Side-9, a colony she had never set foot on before.
As the night progressed and Chris learned more about Heirshy, she felt an inexplicable warmth in his presence. She found herself blushing and unable to stop gazing at him, eventually voicing a question that had lingered in her mind. She hesitantly asked if he reminded her of Bernard Wiseman, her first love, who had tragically perished on December 23rd, UC 0079, during Operation Christmas.
Heirshy acknowledged Bernard’s name, speaking of him with an air of respect. He declared that Bernard had been a glorious soldier, though mistreated by his own comrades in the Cyclops Team. Heirshy believed Bernard had fought for what he thought was right and that his love for Christina had ultimately shaped him into a better person. Chris was taken aback by his words, realizing that during Operation Rubicon, she had no idea Bernard was affiliated with Zeon.
As their conversation deepened, Chris turned to Heirshy with a heartfelt question: "Do you ever miss being human? Do you ever wish you could stop fighting?"
Her words struck a chord with Heirshy, causing his expression to shift into one of sorrow. Realizing she had unintentionally hurt him, Chris gasped and apologized, but Heirshy simply smiled. His response was both honest and melancholic:
"Yes... Yes, I do wish I were a normal human at times. I was once. Before the Universal Century began."
He then revealed something shocking—his true identity. Heirshy’s real name had been Nario Hishimura, a man who had tragically perished before the dawn of the Universal Century. However, in UC 000, he had been resurrected as a super soldier, transformed into what he was now through the mysterious Project Nagia.
Intrigued and empathetic, Chris listened intently, resting her chin on her hands as Heirshy recounted his past. He spoke of his forced rebirth as a robotic humanoid warrior, and how the Zabi family and the Principality of Zeon hailed him as their greatest hero. Yet, he admitted that he did not feel like one.
"I just want to be treated like a normal person and not as a war machine, like I was during the One Year War," he confessed, his gaze distant. He then turned to Chris with a weak smile and added,
"As a human, you’re lucky. You get to sit inside the cockpit of a Mobile Suit with a better chance of survival. I do not have that luxury. If I get hit or attacked in battle, I feel it."
His words trailed off as he stared at the Zeon forces marching past them. With a sigh, he placed his heavy, metal hand onto the reinforced table between them, ensuring it wouldn’t collapse under his weight. He then uttered something that sent a chill down Chris’s spine:
"Sometimes, I feel like I’m a prisoner… cursed to fight for all eternity, until my end finally comes."
Chris gasped loudly, shaken by his words. Heirshy continued, his tone grim:
"I know my time is coming. I’m old and outdated now. Mobile Suits exist that can tear me apart in an instant. I won’t last forever. One day, my time will come, and when it does, I won’t turn away from it—I will answer death’s call."
Chris’s eyes flared with anger, and in an instant, she rose from her seat and struck Heirshy across the face with a resounding slap.
"Don’t ever say things like that!" she snapped. "You’re more than just a war machine! You’re still human! One with metal armor and rocket boosters, sure, but you are still human!"
Heirshy remained calm, rubbing his cheek where she had struck him. Without hostility, he softly replied:
"Christina, I’m old. I’m outdated. There are Mobile Suits that can destroy me with ease. I’m not going to last forever."
Chris refused to accept this. She stormed around the table, grabbed Heirshy’s head with both hands, and forced him to look her in the eyes.
"Machines can still be upgraded! You’ve lasted longer than I ever did in the military! I quit in March UC 0080 when the One Year War ended, but your words kept me going!"
Heirshy was stunned—he had never realized how deeply his actions had influenced Christina. He remained silent, allowing her to continue. Tears welled up in her eyes as she glared at him.
"You showed me that there is good in people. That day, when you spared me… when you complimented my piloting skills even though I was just a test pilot—you inspired me! I will be damned if I lose you!"
She finally let go of his face, wiping her tears away.
"I lost Bernard to war. I don’t want to lose anyone else."
Chris then placed her hands on her cheeks, her expression softening. She admitted that she had searched for Heirshy for seven years. Even at age 32, she had rejoined the Earth Federation, all in hopes of finding him again.
"You made me who I am today," she whispered. "I read about what happened to you during the One Year War—how you were betrayed twice. Once in Odessa, and again by Johnny Ridden."
At that moment, she wrapped her arms around Heirshy, resting her head on his metal shoulder.
"Please, promise me—you will take your own advice. Don’t give up on life. Just because you are not human anymore doesn’t mean anything! You are still human to me, to Char, and to the Principality of Zeon. You just have a metal body and built-in thrusters now."
For the first time in a long while, Heirshy felt warmth in someone’s embrace. He closed his eyes, gently patting Chris’s back with his metal hand. Her hug reminded him of Panamala’s, a woman he had once loved when she was still alive.
Chris continued, "I won’t let anything happen to you. And if anyone tries to take you away from me…" she paused, "I will kill them."
Heirshy was speechless. Before he could process her words, Chris pressed her lips against his in a sudden, passionate kiss.
He was stunned but did not resist. For the first time, he felt something real again. Just as he was about to respond, Chris placed a hand over his mouth and whispered into his ear.
"I’ve waited seven years to do that."
Heirshy hesitated, then softly murmured, "Miss Mackenzie… I’m not Bernard."
Chris only smiled, wrapping her arms around him once more.
"No, you’re not, hun. But you’re just as good."
Before they could say another word, the night was interrupted by the sound of distant artillery fire. The ground trembled as explosions erupted in the distance, and Zeon soldiers scrambled for cover.
Zenora had launched an attack on Norenburg.
Battle of Norenburg[]
Realizing he was trapped in his human-sized form, Heirshy found himself navigating the war-torn streets of the city. Chris, despite not being dressed in her usual military uniform or pilot suit, quickly followed him, determined to stay by his side.
However, their journey was quickly interrupted as Zenora soldiers launched an attack, opening fire on the duo. Reacting swiftly, Heirshy neutralized the enemies with his Beam Rifle before they could cause significant damage. During the skirmish, Chris managed to pick up a captured Zenora Kayato Assault Rifle, allowing her to fight back as they made their way toward Fort Tongoda, which was already under siege by Zenora forces.
Amidst the chaos of the battle between Principality of Zeon forces and the invading Zenora army, Chris pushed forward through the ravaged city. By the time she reached the Zeon headquarters, her elegant dress—already ill-suited for combat—was torn and caked in dirt from the relentless fighting.
Undeterred, she climbed aboard her Gundam Raven, preparing for battle, while Heirshy continued on foot toward a nearby Heighten Pad, hoping to restore his Mobile Suit form.
However, just as he was about to reach the platform, a Zakura-class Mobile Suit launched a devastating attack, obliterating the Heighten Pad and sending Heirshy flying backward from the force of the explosion.
Undaunted, Chris immediately took action, launching the Raven Gundam and destroying the Zakura Mobile Suit before it could cause further damage.
She then provided cover for Heirshy as he fought his way through the base, making his way to a backup Heighten Pad located at the fort’s rear section. This time, he successfully boarded and reverted to Mobile Suit size. Once inside, Chris handed him his helmet while still piloting her Raven Gundam, ready to defend Fort Tongoda.
As the battle intensified, Chris and Heirshy worked together to prevent Zenora Mobile Suits from breaching the inner defenses of Fort Tongoda. The fight was grueling, and before reinforcements from Fort Gondona could arrive, Chris’s Raven Gundam sustained a direct hit in a vulnerable spot. The damage proved catastrophic, forcing her to eject from the Gundam just moments before it exploded. Fortunately, her escape pod was caught mid-air by Heirshy, who carefully placed it on the rooftop of a relatively stable structure before returning to the battle.
After emerging from her pod, Chris carefully climbed down the damaged building, where she bore witness to the sheer intensity of the battle below. Zaku II’s and Rick Doms engaged in brutal combat against the invading Zenora forces, with Zeon Mobile Suits being destroyed one after another. At one point, a Zenora Mobile Suit was struck by enemy fire and spiraled out of control, crashing into the main hub of Fort Tongoda.
The impact left the structure unstable, forcing Chris to cautiously make her way down while navigating the falling debris and avoiding the relentless firefight around her.
Upon reaching the ground, she barely had a moment to recover before being surrounded by five Zenora soldiers, all prepared to execute her on sight.
Just as they raised their weapons, a squad of Zeon infantry emerged from the thick smoke of battle, swiftly eliminating the enemy and rushing to Chris’s aid. Despite her protests and desire to stay and fight, the soldiers insisted on her evacuation. She was quickly placed aboard a GAW transport and sent to Fort Gondona, where she would remain for the rest of the battle.
From the safety of the aircraft, she watched the distant flames of war consuming Fort Tongoda, knowing that Heirshy and the remaining Zeon forces were still locked in a desperate struggle for survival.
Temporary Communications Officer At Fort Gondona[]
As the Battle for Fort Tongoda raged on through the night, Christina Mackenzie (Chris) anxiously monitored incoming battle reports, her concern growing with each passing hour. She repeatedly pressed the superiors of Fort Gondona for an update on Heirshy, but despite her relentless efforts, she was unable to establish contact with him.
Following the destruction of Gundam Raven, Chris quickly took on a new role as a temporary communications officer at Fort Gondona, determined to reestablish contact. She made multiple attempts to reach Heirshy, but each effort ended in silence, further fueling her anxiety.
By December 12th, UC 0097, the echoes of battle gradually faded into the distance, leaving an eerie silence in their wake. Fearing the worst, Chris felt despair creeping in, her emotions overwhelming her. However, just as she was on the verge of breaking down, a familiar voice crackled over the radio—it was Heirshy.
He reported that Fort Tongoda had been saved, and that the Zenora Empire was retreating, a statement that sent a wave of relief and celebration through the staff at Fort Gondona. Cheers erupted, but Chris, unable to bask in the moment, immediately set off for Fort Tongoda. The only thing on her mind was reuniting with Heirshy.
Upon her arrival, Chris finally embraced Heirshy, relieved beyond words that he was alive. However, their respite was short-lived. Following the surprise attack on Fort Tongoda and the subsequent Battle of Norenburg, Heirshy and Chris were summoned for a high-level communication with Kycilia Zabi, Heirshy’s superior at Fort Gondona.
Kycilia demanded an update on the status of Sierra Colony and whether any progress had been made in the larger conflict. It was during this meeting that Kycilia formally met Christina Mackenzie, as Heirshy credited their victory not only to himself but also to her. Kycilia, known for her usually calculating demeanor, let a rare smirk form behind her signature purple mask before remarking:
"You know, I never thought I would see the day when my warrior would finally introduce me to a woman."
Heirshy chuckled at her teasing, while Chris, caught off guard, blushed slightly, folding her arms behind her back as she smiled and replied, "Thank you, ma’am."
But their moment of levity was fleeting. The conversation quickly turned serious when Heirshy revealed crucial intelligence gathered from a Zenora prisoner of war (POW). According to the captured soldier, the remnants of the Zenora Empire had fallen back to Ark City, the capital of Sierra Colony, where they were making a final stand.
Upon hearing this, Kycilia wasted no time. She immediately initiated "Operation Ark", a large-scale offensive designed to deliver the final blow to Zenora and liberate the Nexus Sector once and for all. With the stage set for the next phase of the war, Heirshy and Chris braced themselves for the battles yet to come, knowing that their mission was far from over.
Operation Ark[]
Now completely Lacking a Mobile Suit, Heirshy sought to introduce Christina to the use of Zeon Mobile Suits, hoping she would join the fight.
However, Christina simply smiled, kissed his cheek, and said, "I think I'll sit this one out. You go ahead, and be careful." Heirshy returned her smile, while Char, who had been silently observing from the room, chuckled at their exchange.
As if to seal his promise, Heirshy leaned in and kissed Christina on the lips, leaving her cheeks flushed with passion. Breaking away, he grinned and teased, "Suit yourself. You're going to miss all the fun. Ha ha ha!" Christina, placing her hands on her hips, shot him a serious yet affectionate look and declared, "You better come back to me. If you don’t, I’ll hunt you down and challenge you to another duel." Before Heirshy could respond, Char smirked and interjected on his behalf, assuring her, "Don’t worry, I’ll take good care of him."
As the battle raged on during Operation Ark, Christina remained within the safety of Fort Gondona, anxiously monitoring the battlefield from a strategic command center.
M’Quve had entrusted her with a special tracking device, allowing her to watch Heirshy in real time as he fought. She kept a constant eye on him, witnessing the relentless attacks by Zenora’s forces, who showed no signs of letting up.
For four consecutive battles, the Zenora troops maintained their unyielding assault, but Christina, through her careful observation, noticed a weakness in their formation. She quickly relayed this information to Heirshy, allowing both him and Char to exploit the gap. With a coordinated counteroffensive, they broke through the enemy lines, breaching the city of Ark, where brutal urban warfare ensued.
Just as victory seemed within reach, disaster struck. Unexpectedly, Zenora Zakura Mobile Suits launched a direct attack on Fort Gondona, catching the Zeon defenders off guard. With the majority of Zeon's Mobile Suits committed to the battle in Ark, the fortress was left largely undefended.
The Zeon ground forces, lacking sufficient firepower, were outmaneuvered and overwhelmed. In the chaos, Christina’s quarters within the fort were hit by enemy fire, causing a catastrophic collapse that left her severely wounded and trapped under rubble.
As the base fell into turmoil and the massacre continued, General Dozle Zabi, arriving late to the battle, descended upon the scene piloting the Big Zam. Witnessing the carnage firsthand, Dozle launched a devastating counteroffensive, obliterating the Zenora attackers and securing the fortress. He immediately relayed the situation to Zeon High Command, calling for reinforcements.
Within hours, Zeon recovery teams combed through the ruins of Golonda and finally located Christina, unconscious and critically injured. She was swiftly airlifted to Gondona Hospital, where doctors discovered that her ribs were broken and her legs were crushed. Despite the severity of her condition, emergency medical teams worked tirelessly to stabilize her, resetting much of her shattered bone structure. By 6:15 PM, as the battle for Ark City continued to rage, her condition had been stabilized.
After several grueling hours, Christina finally regained consciousness at 12:35 AM on December 13th, UC 0097. As she slowly opened her eyes, she was greeted by the sight of Heirshy standing by her bedside, gently placing a bouquet of flowers beside her. Due to the immense pain from her broken ribs, she was unable to embrace him, but her heart swelled with relief. Char, who was also present in the room, broke the silence by announcing the fall of Ark City—Zenora had been defeated and pushed out of Zeon space.
Overcome with emotion, Christina smiled, realizing that the battle had been won. Heirshy then revealed that they had received news of the attack on Fort Gondona at 10:45 PM and had immediately rushed back, refusing to leave her side since. Surrounded by newfound friends and cherished by a faction she had once fought against thirteen years ago, Christina felt a deep sense of belonging. With a contented sigh, she gazed at Heirshy one last time before peacefully drifting off to sleep, reassured that she was no longer alone.
Joining the Principality[]

Mackenzie in a Zeon Uniform in UC 0098, following her recovery after the events of Operation Nexus Storm...
Two months after her release on February 20th, UC 0098, Chris relocated to Side 3, where she established permanent residence near Zeon Academy.
On March 1st of that same year, she officially enlisted as a soldier for the Principality of Zeon, beginning her formal military training. By April 22nd, UC 0098, she successfully graduated from the Academy, marking the start of her career as a Zeon pilot.
Shortly after, she was introduced to the Heriishia, a specialized mobile suit developed by the Flannigan Institute, tailored for Newtype pilots.
During the Zeon Civil War, Chris flew alongside Heirshy, forging a formidable partnership in battle. Her exceptional combat skills and resilience distinguished her among her peers, but what truly set her apart was her deep emotional connection with Heirshy. Unlike the many women who had fallen for him before, Chris was the only one to survive multiple engagements during the conflict, allowing her the rare opportunity to pursue a relationship with him beyond the battlefield.
Currently, she holds the callsign Raven 1 within the Principality of Zeon and remains an active member of its forces. As of post-UC 0097, she is officially in a romantic relationship with Heirshy, solidifying their bond both in war and in peace.
Personality[]
She is a mild-mannered beauty whose appearance and personality are exactly what you would expect from the "girl next door". She is strong-minded and has a strong sense of responsibility, she's also very kind-hearted and caring towards those close to her. While she has a harmonious relationship with her family, she felt that her upbringing hinted that her parents were leaning more towards having a son and was raised to at least be able to stand up to the boys in her group. This consequently led to her having a more tomboyish personality and would eventually start her attraction to the military.
Skills[]
After graduating from high school, Christina Mackenzie entered the Federation Space Force Academy in September of UC 0076, where she demonstrated exceptional skill and determination. She graduated at the top of her class in UC 0078, earning a reputation as a highly capable officer. During her time at the academy, Christina aspired to become a fighter pilot and sought an assignment with the elite War Technology Research Group. However, before she could achieve this goal, the One Year War erupted, abruptly altering her career trajectory.
In her youth, Christina had been an avid baseball player, a passion she carried with her even after enlisting in the military. She kept her bat as a memento of her past, symbolizing her competitive spirit and resilience.
Upon joining the Federation Space Force, she was assigned to a test squadron under the command of the Space Force Integrated Technology Research Headquarters. Despite being a rookie, she quickly impressed her superiors with her exceptional piloting skills. Eventually, the test unit was reorganized into the G-4 Unit, and Christina was selected as the primary pilot for the RX-78NT-1 Gundam "Alex". However, her designation as a test pilot was somewhat misleading—her primary expertise was in computer engineering. As a "shoe-fitter," her role was to adjust and optimize the Gundam NT-1's educational computer, ensuring that the mobile suit's learning algorithms functioned properly.
Despite lacking the formal training of a career combat pilot, Christina’s skills proved formidable. During the events of Operation Rubicon, she successfully engaged and defeated Cyclops, an achievement that showcased her innate talent. Later, she faced Black Thunder, a highly skilled enemy pilot, managing to hold her own for an extended period before ultimately being defeated. However, her performance impressed Heirshy, who praised her abilities and encouraged her to continue improving. Following the battle, Heirshy departed Side 6, never to return.
Christina’s most defining moment came during Operation Christmas when she unknowingly engaged Bernard Wiseman, a pilot she had formed an emotional bond with, in a tragic duel. Despite her lack of awareness regarding her opponent's identity, she emerged victorious, saving Side 6 from destruction. However, the battle resulted in the destruction of the Gundam Alex and effectively ended her role in the One Year War.
Over the next decade, Christina's skills improved significantly. By UC 0090, at the age of 32, she rejoined the Earth Federation Military, still holding onto Heirshy's words as a source of inspiration. She eventually became an independent assailant, operating outside traditional command structures. Her path led her to participate in the Zeon Civil War, where she set her sights on hunting down Heirshy to challenge him once more.
In their long-awaited rematch, Christina fought Heirshy again, managing to inflict damage on Black Thunder—a feat that demonstrated her remarkable growth as a pilot. Though she was defeated for the second time, she lasted significantly longer than during their first encounter in Operation Rubicon. Finally, in their third and final duel on November 19, UC 0097, Christina defeated Heirshy, much to his astonishment. Acknowledging her growth, he declared that her battle with him in UC 0079 had transformed her into a noble warrior.
This ultimate victory cemented Christina’s legacy and deepened her bond with Heirshy, evolving their once rivalrous relationship into something more profound—love.
