The Invasion of Side 19 was the first engagement in the Zeon Civil War between the Earth Federation and Principality of Zeon, although to the forces of Zeon the event was meant to try and negotiate permission from the Earth Federation in order to terminate Grenada so that they could roam around space and help colonies that were constantly attacked and occupied by Neo Zeon during the early events of the conflict.
Negotiatons however went sour, due to the events of Operation Torment, that was unleashed 12 days ago by Neo Zeon forces with several captured Zeon Mobile suits.
Zeon Negotiator Almine Minaku was killed while en-route towards Side 19, by newly developed Federation Salamis VII Class cruisers (revealing that over the past years, the Earth Federation has been getting far ahead in war technology), sparking the conflict between the 2 powers.
The Battle ended in Federation victory, when Amuro Ray who was declared MIA ever since the Second Neo Zeon War in UC.93, returned to combat and attacked Heirshy during the fighting, forcing the Principality of Zeon to divert they're forces at Amuro, Amuro however managed to gain the upperhand once again, and badly damage New Harrison, before Panamala appeared into the fight with an Elmeth, and bared Amuro from killing Heirshy, Amuro alomst accidently kills Panamala.
After the engagement, the Earth Federation began to Ammass for the Invasion of the Zeon Homeland, but instead diverted most of it's forces towards Operation Torment on Earth.
It was highly stated by Ryu, that the Battle was mostly in self Defense, instead of an attack, as it was discovered by the end of the Battle of New York in UC 108, that the Principality of Zeon was fighting to escape the Quadrant and not for Invading Side 19.
