'Heirshy, originally known as Nario Hishimura, was a pivotal yet unofficial figure within the Principality of Zeon. Revered among Zeon forces as "Dark Thunder" and feared by the Earth Federation, who dubbed him "Black Thunder", Heirshy played a foundational role in the rise of Zeon. He personally selected Zeon Zum Deikun to spearhead the creation of the Autonomous Republic of Munzo in UC 0058, providing the necessary backing for Deikun’s vision of Spacenoid independence. However, it is important to note that Heirshy is a fan-made character and does not hold any official place within the Gundam universe.
Although Zeon Zum Deikun met his untimely end at the hands of the Zabi Family in UC 0069, Heirshy was kept in the dark about this assassination. He was led to believe that Deikun’s death was the result of an unfortunate accident rather than a political coup. This deception allowed the Zabi regime to solidify its power over Zeon while retaining Heirshy’s support.
Despite the Zabi Family's ruthless methods in consolidating control over the Principality, Heirshy remained a respected figure among them. Over time, Degwin Sodo Zabi and his children grew deeply attached to Heirshy, ultimately designating him as the official mascot of the Principality of Zeon. His unwavering dedication to their cause earned him a place within Zeon’s inner circle, making his bond with the Zabi Family unbreakable.
During the One Year War (UC 0079), Heirshy played an active role in Zeon’s military efforts, contributing both strategically and symbolically to their fight against the Earth Federation. Even after the war ended in Zeon’s defeat, Heirshy remained loyal to the Principality. He watched over its remnants during their period of isolation from the Republic of Zeon, ensuring that their ideals were not completely extinguished. Eventually, as fate would have it, the Zabi Family was reincarnated in the early-to-mid UC 0080s, and Heirshy relinquished his leadership role, entrusting the future of Zeon to them once again.
From that point forward, Heirshy continued to serve as Zeon’s official mascot, taking part in numerous military engagements despite his aging body. His relentless determination to fight for Zeon’s survival persisted until his tragic death on December 6th, AC 0041. Even in death, Heirshy remained an enduring symbol of Zeon’s struggle, forever etched in the Principality’s legacy.
Bio[]
Prior to UC 000[]
- Main article: Nario Hishimura
Before becoming a robotic entity, Heirshy was once a human named Nario Hishimura, born in the year 2025 AD, predating the Universal Century (UC) calendar. However, the specific month and day of his birth remain unknown.
Very little information exists regarding Nario Hishimura’s life before the Universal Century. Any records that may have once detailed his past have either been lost to time or were never documented in the first place. Even Heirshy himself retains no memories of his human existence, leaving his personal history shrouded in mystery.
At some point during the transition into the Universal Century, Nario Hishimura met an untimely end. He died under uncertain circumstances in UC 000, at the young age of 19. His body was laid to rest in an unmarked grave somewhere in North America, its location known to no one.
How and why Nario was later reconstructed or reborn as Heirshy remains unknown, adding to the enigma surrounding his transformation from human to machine.
From UC 000 - UC 0079[]
In the mid-months of UC 000, the grave of Nario Hitsumara was unearthed by workers belonging to an unknown organization. This group was later identified as being affiliated with Project Nageia, a top-secret initiative known for its use of advanced excavation technology. Due to the harsh and unrefined digging methods of the time, Nario’s remains were heavily damaged, with most of his body dismantled beyond recognition. His severed limbs and other body parts were abandoned at the gravesite, left to decay. However, his head was extracted and transported to an unknown location for further experimentation.
At an unspecified time, in a classified research facility located either in Japan or North America, Nario’s disembodied head was fused with a highly advanced robotic body. This cybernetic fusion served as the foundation for a new experimental lifeform. By early fall of UC 000, Nario awakened in this new form, unaware that he had not only been resurrected but transformed into something beyond human. His rebirth would mark the dawn of a new era—one that would influence the future of war machines and alter the course of history.
Under Project Nageia, Nario underwent rigorous training and enhancements, evolving into an unstoppable warrior. No one in UC 000 could rival his combat prowess. His unmatched abilities led the scientists behind the project to officially designate him as their prototype human-robot hybrid, assigning him the codename "Heirshy." This name would follow him throughout his long existence, persisting until his eventual death in AC 0041, over 228 years later.
Rise to Power and the Foundation of Zeon[]
As the world moved toward the age of space colonization, Heirshy grew disillusioned with the Earth Federation and its political ambitions. Rather than aligning himself with the ruling powers, he chose to explore new possibilities among the space colonies. By UC 001, Heirshy had begun traveling among the colonists, seeking to build a new future away from Earth's control.
For the next three years, Heirshy played a crucial role in constructing additional space colonies orbiting Earth. His efforts earned him recognition and praise from the Earth Federation. However, in UC 009, his life took a pivotal turn when he encountered Zeon Zum Deikun, an infant at the time. Upon meeting the child, Heirshy sensed great potential within him and made a solemn promise to his unidentified parents: if Zeon ever reached adulthood, he would personally appoint him as the leader of his future ambitions.
By UC 0018, Heirshy had formed a partnership with a brilliant scientist named Aniko Malio, collaborating on a groundbreaking invention: the Risen Pad. This advanced technology had the ability to alter the size of objects and living beings, enabling transformation between human-scale and Mobile Suit scale. Unbeknownst to Heirshy, this innovation would later become his primary battlefield tool during the events of the One Year War.
The Birth of Side 3 and the Rise of Zeon Zum Deikun[]
In UC 0043, with growing support from both the space colonists and elements within the Earth Federation, Heirshy spearheaded the construction of a new space colony that would later be known as Side 3. The construction process spanned two years, culminating in UC 0045 when Heirshy reunited with Zeon Zum Deikun, now a 36-year-old philosopher. Recognizing Zeon's vision for the future, Heirshy handpicked him to serve as the official leader and ideological founder of Side 3’s new republic.
Under Zeon’s leadership, the Republic of Munzo was established, and by UC 0058, it formally declared independence from the Earth Federation. As Zeon Zum Deikun shaped the colony’s political landscape, Heirshy developed a close working relationship with Degwin Zabi, an influential political figure. Believing Degwin to be an invaluable asset to the movement, Heirshy appointed him to work alongside Zeon in laying the groundwork for a sovereign space nation.
During this time, Heirshy also became personally involved in military training efforts, preparing the colony for potential conflicts with the Earth Federation. Additionally, he formed deep bonds with Zeon’s children—Casval Rem Deikun (later known as Char Aznable) and Artesia Som Deikun. Over the years, Casval would grow to become one of Heirshy’s most trusted allies, while Artesia became not only a loyal comrade but also a potential love interest.
Death of Zeon Zum Deikun[]
In UC 0068, Zeon Zum Deikun died suddenly at the age of 59 under mysterious circumstances. In his final moments, he appointed Degwin Zabi as his successor, a decision that would drastically alter the course of history. Shortly after Zeon’s death, the Principality of Zeon was officially formed, shifting power into the hands of the Zabi family.
In UC 0069, Heirshy constructed a memorial in Side 3 to honor Zeon Zum Deikun’s legacy, with the Zabi family present at the ceremony. However, Heirshy failed to foresee the dark path the Zabis would take.
Unbeknownst to him, their reign would lead to one of the bloodiest conflicts in history, a war that would engulf the space colonies in unprecedented violence.
Heirshy's Ultimate Dilemma[]
By UC 0079, full-scale war erupted between the Principality of Zeon and the Earth Federation. Reluctantly, Heirshy found himself fighting alongside Zeon forces, believing that victory could bring true liberation to space colonies.
However, his perspective on the war changed drastically when he witnessed the horrific events of Operation British—a devastating military operation that resulted in mass civilian casualties. This tragedy left a lasting impact on Heirshy, causing him to question the morality of the war and his role in it.
Little did he know, the war he helped forge would spiral into one of the most catastrophic conflicts in human history, and he himself would become a key figure in its unfolding events.
One Year War[]
Early Months[]
During the early months of the One Year War, Heirshy was among the first mobile suit pilots deployed by the Principality of Zeon in their initial offensives against the outer space colonies. As a skilled pilot, he played a crucial role in the One Week War, a brutal conflict that erupted on January 3rd, UC 0079, marking the opening phase of Zeon's war against the Earth Federation. This period of intense warfare culminated in Operation British, one of the most infamous and catastrophic events of the war.
At the time, Heirshy's mobile suit was considered one of the most advanced combat machines ever deployed, incorporating cutting-edge technology far ahead of its time. Notably, it was among the first to be equipped with beam-based weaponry, a significant advancement that preceded the creation of the RX-78-2 Gundam by several months. This gave Heirshy and his fellow Zeon pilots a formidable advantage on the battlefield, allowing them to dominate early skirmishes against the Federation's outdated mobile weapons.
Throughout the One Week War, Heirshy fought primarily in space, engaging in relentless battles against Federation forces as Zeon sought to assert its dominance. Despite his commitment to the cause, he remained largely unaware of the full extent of the war’s brutality, particularly the atrocities being committed against civilians within the colonies. However, as Operation British unfolded—a devastating campaign that involved the colony drop aimed at Earth—Heirshy was forced to confront the grim reality of Zeon's tactics. Witnessing firsthand the immense destruction and loss of innocent lives, he began to question the true cost of the war and the moral implications of his role within it.
This pivotal moment marked the beginning of Heirshy’s internal conflict, as he struggled to reconcile his duty as a soldier with the horrifying consequences of Zeon's actions.
Operation British[]
Following a series of decisive victories against the Federation in space, Heirshy was entrusted with a critical role in Operation British, a devastating military maneuver orchestrated by the Principality of Zeon.
Tasked with overseeing the catastrophic colony drop targeting Sydney, Australia, Heirshy played a pivotal role in ensuring the mission’s success. As the massive colony fragment descended toward Earth, he provided tactical support and cover, ensuring that Federation forces were unable to interfere with its trajectory.
The aftermath of the impact was nothing short of apocalyptic. The sheer force of the colony's descent unleashed an explosion so powerful that it obliterated Sydney and much of eastern Australia, sending shockwaves that reshaped the planet’s climate and atmosphere.
The death toll was astronomical—nearly half of the world’s population was wiped out in an instant. Cities crumbled, ecosystems were thrown into chaos, and the Earth itself bore scars that would take generations to heal.
Although a loyal soldier of Zeon, Heirshy was deeply shaken by the sheer scale of destruction and suffering he had helped unleash. Witnessing the horrifying consequences of the colony drop firsthand forced him into a crisis of conscience, compelling him to reevaluate not just his role in the war, but the very ideals he had been fighting for. As the war raged on, he continued to serve, later participating in the infamous Battle of Loum, yet the memories of Operation British haunted him.
It was during this battle that Heirshy made a solemn vow—he would show mercy to his enemies, regardless of their allegiance, status, or whether they even deserved it. Unlike many of his Zeon counterparts, who reveled in the destruction of the Federation, Heirshy’s growing disillusionment set him apart.
His newfound resolve would mark the beginning of a transformation, one that would shape his approach to warfare and redefine his legacy in the annals of history.
Battle of Loum[]
Despite the traumatizing experience of witnessing Operation British, Heirshy remained steadfast in his allegiance to the Principality of Zeon, continuing to fight alongside Zeon forces and securing multiple victories against the Earth Federation in space. By January 15th, UC 0079, Heirshy took part in the infamous Battle of Loum, a critical engagement during Zeon’s invasion of Side 5. The battle was part of Zeon’s bold attempt to execute a second colony drop on Earth, aiming to cripple the Federation's infrastructure. However, the Earth Federation forces proved to be far more relentless than anticipated, forcing Zeon to deploy their elite mobile suit pilots. Recognizing the dire situation, Heirshy was launched from a Musai-class warship to turn the tide of battle against the Federation.
While engaging Federation forces in space, Heirshy crossed paths with none other than Char Aznable, the Red Comet. The two pilots immediately developed a strong camaraderie, as Heirshy was deeply impressed by Char's extraordinary piloting skills. As the battle raged on, Zeon forces initially gained the upper hand, pushing the Federation fleet back. However, the tide quickly turned when General Revil, the Federation’s leading strategist, executed a devastating counterattack—ordering the deployment of nuclear weapons against Zeon’s invasion force. The sheer scale of destruction was unlike anything Heirshy had ever witnessed before, surpassing even the horrors of Operation British.
During the engagement, Heirshy and Char were assigned a critical mission—to intercept and destroy a convoy of Federation vessels attempting to flee Loum’s airspace. However, still haunted by the mass civilian casualties he had witnessed during Operation British, Heirshy made a fateful decision: he refused to fire upon the escaping civilian ships. Instead, he directed his firepower against the Federation’s main fleet, focusing his efforts solely on military targets. His choice, though controversial among Zeon command, ultimately played a role in weakening the Federation’s defensive line.
Heirshy and Char’s relentless assault bought enough time for the elite Black Tri-Stars to enter the battlefield. Their arrival turned the battle in Zeon’s favor, leading to the successful capture of General Revil, a pivotal moment that sent shockwaves through the Federation's command structure. Following this victory, Heirshy joined Char, Johnny Ridden, and the Black Tri-Stars in escorting the captured General back to Zeon-controlled space.
As they regrouped, Heirshy witnessed an experimental Zeon superweapon being deployed—the QCX-76A Jormungand, a massive long-range artillery cannon developed by the 603 Technical Evaluation Division. The Zeon Special Forces operatives overseeing the weapon believed it could be the ultimate game-changer in the battle, capable of decimating Federation warships with its immense firepower and unprecedented range. However, despite the anticipation surrounding the Jormungand, it became apparent that Zeon High Command had little interest in utilizing it. Instead, their focus had shifted toward the mass deployment of the newly developed MS-06 Zaku II mobile suits.
To Heirshy’s secret relief, the Jormungand was never properly integrated into Zeon’s battle strategy due to the lack of essential targeting data. However, in an attempt to prove the weapon’s capabilities, its gunners fired three shots using only visual targeting. One of these shots successfully destroyed a Magellan-class battleship, while another possibly disabled a Salamis-class cruiser. Despite this minor success, the Jormungand ultimately remained an underutilized asset, overshadowed by the growing dominance of mobile suit warfare.
As the battle came to a close, Zeon secured a strategic victory with the capture of General Revil, but at a tremendous cost. The destruction wrought by the Federation’s nuclear counterattack left lasting scars on Heirshy, reinforcing his growing disillusionment with the war’s brutality. With the battlefield behind them, Heirshy, Char, and their allies retreated, knowing that the conflict was far from over and that even greater battles lay ahead.
Brought Before the Zabi Family[]
After the events at Loum, Heirshy was summoned before the Zabi family to face judgment for his disobedience. During the Battle of Loum, he had defied direct orders to destroy civilian refugee transports attempting to escape from Side 5.
Knowing the Principality of Zeon’s harsh stance on insubordination, Heirshy expected nothing less than execution for his actions.
With a heavy heart, he entered the grand throne room of Sovereign Degwin Zabi, fully prepared to accept his fate. However, to his astonishment, instead of condemnation, he was met with unexpected praise—not only from Degwin himself but also from the rest of the Zabi family.
Rather than being punished, Heirshy was commended for his decision. His refusal to attack defenseless civilians had inadvertently led to the capture of General Revil, a key Federation leader, and had forced the Earth Federation to the negotiation table. This unforeseen outcome was seen as a major strategic victory for Zeon, shifting the tide of war in their favor.
Recognizing his value, the Zabi family entrusted Heirshy with a new mission. He was assigned the honor of accompanying Garma Zabi in the invasion of Earth.
His role was crucial—helping to secure vital mining territories that would provide the necessary resources to sustain Zeon’s war effort for the foreseeable future. Understanding the importance of this task, Heirshy accepted without hesitation. Initially, Heirshy was to serve under Kycilia Zabi’s command and was stationed at the asteroid fortress Solomon. However, circumstances changed once Garma’s invasion of Earth commenced.
Given the urgency of securing strategic footholds on the planet, command of Heirshy was transferred directly to Garma Zabi. His new orders placed him at the forefront of the campaign, aiding Garma’s efforts to establish control over key regions critical to Zeon’s expansion.
As the war raged on, Heirshy found himself at the center of some of the most pivotal moments in the conflict, his fate now intertwined with the ambitions of the Zabi family and the future of the Principality of Zeon.
Earth Invasion[]
Heirshy slashing through a Ground GM during the Fall of Earth in Late March at the Battle of New York...
Following his deployment to the front lines as part of Garma Zabi's invasion force, Heirshy played a significant role in the Zeon invasion of Earth, temporarily serving under Garma's command.
As part of the operation, Heirshy was assigned to lead the first drop point in Central Asia, followed by another in Europe.
His primary objective was to launch strategic assaults on key Federation resource centers, aiming to disrupt their supply lines and bolster Zeon's war effort. Through a series of coordinated offensives, Heirshy and his forces worked to secure critical territories, ensuring a steady flow of resources to support Zeon's military campaign on Earth.

Heirshy in Seattle, in March of UC 0079, during the Fall of the city, leads Zaku II's through heavy Federation resistance...
Heirshy executed his attacks with remarkable speed, managing to breach enemy defenses and overrun most of the Federation’s defensive positions in just two hours. His aggressive and relentless tactics left the Federation forces scrambling, unable to mount an effective counterattack against the Zeon advance.
Despite receiving direct orders from Garma to coordinate his assaults with squad support, Heirshy frequently disregarded these commands, choosing instead to operate independently.
His lone-wolf strategy proved highly effective, allowing him to clear vast portions of southeastern Europe ahead of the main Zeon invasion force. His actions were instrumental in ensuring Zeon's rapid expansion across the continent.
By the time Zeon had secured most of Europe, they had also taken control of Ukraine and Central Asia, solidifying their dominance in the region.
These decisive victories paved the way for further operations in other strategic theaters across Earth, including North America. Under Garma’s orders, Heirshy launched a devastating assault on a heavily fortified Federation outpost located approximately three miles from Washington, D.C. Within a mere three hours, the outpost was obliterated, leaving the capital vulnerable to further attacks. Following this success, Heirshy joined the Zeon forces in their invasion of Seattle, Washington, where he played a crucial role in occupying the city.
As his reputation for destruction spread across the globe, Heirshy became one of the most feared Zeon commanders on Earth.
His brutal efficiency and disregard for conventional military protocol made him a significant threat to the Federation, prompting an urgent need to eliminate him before he could inflict further damage.
Later Months[]
Rebellion in Seattle[]
- Main article: Seattle Riots

Heirshy fighting against Federation Resistance Forces, in Seattle on October 1st, UC 0079...
In October, Universal Century (UC) 0079, Zeon officer Heirshy was summoned by Commander Garma Zabi for a critical briefing regarding the ongoing Federation resistance in Seattle. Despite the city falling under Principality of Zeon control on March 12th of the same year, pockets of Earth Federation Forces (EFF) continued to operate in the area, disrupting Zeon’s hold over the region.
Garma, concerned about the growing insurgency, ordered Heirshy and Haro Battalion to return to Seattle and neutralize the resistance once and for all.
Upon arrival, Heirshy led Zeon ground forces in securing key locations within the city while escorting reinforcements through contested zones. The mission was met with heavy resistance, as the Federation had deployed mobile suits in an attempt to turn the tide of battle. Nevertheless, Heirshy and his battalion successfully defended their position, ensuring a pathway for Zeon forces to push deeper into enemy territory.
The operation culminated in the storming of the primary Federation resistance base, strategically located in the heart of the city. After intense urban combat, the base was successfully cleared, delivering a significant blow to the local resistance. However, Heirshy’s mission was far from over.
With intelligence reports indicating that the Federation’s Medea supply corps was operating in the vicinity, Heirshy led an assault on these vital supply lines. This maneuver effectively crippled the enemy’s ability to deploy additional mobile suits, further weakening their foothold in Seattle.
By October 2nd, UC 0079, Heirshy and Haro Battalion launched a counteroffensive alongside the Principality of Zeon’s 30th Terrestrial Forces, reclaiming three key districts of the city that had fallen to the resistance in August.
The operation pushed the remaining Federation forces into an isolated and heavily damaged sector—effectively trapping them in Seattle’s no man’s land.
With the resistance now cut off from reinforcements and supplies, Zeon tightened its grip on the city, marking a decisive moment in the North American campaign of the One Year War.
Though the battle for Seattle was far from over, Heirshy’s tactical leadership and relentless offensive strategy had successfully tilted the scales in Zeon’s favor, bringing them one step closer to securing total dominance over the region.
Heirshy seen on October 2nd, UC 0079, during the Seattle Riots, bringing down Federation GunTanks on the second and last day of the Seattle Riots...
On October 2nd, Heirshy and the Harvo Battalion launched a decisive assault on a strategically significant Federation base located in the suburban outskirts of the city.
The operation resulted in the complete destruction of the base, severing crucial lines of communication between the Federation forces and the various resistance militias still fighting within the city. This effectively isolated the remaining defenders, weakening their ability to coordinate and resist Zeon's advance.
As part of their mission, Heirshy played a key role in eliminating the primary resistance leader, Tomoyuki Toja, in the heavily contested No Man’s Zone. His death dealt a severe blow to the morale and organizational structure of the remaining Federation-aligned insurgents.
Despite this success, Heirshy received orders to vacate the city due to pressing developments elsewhere on the planet that required his immediate attention.
Nevertheless, the actions of Heirshy and the Harvo Battalion proved instrumental in securing Zeon's control over the city. With the destruction of the Federation base and the elimination of key resistance leadership, the Principality of Zeon was able to maintain order and systematically suppress the remaining rebel forces.
By November 1st, Zeon had successfully quelled the rebellion, solidifying its hold over the region and ensuring that further uprisings would be far less likely to succeed.
Skirmishes During the Stalemate[]
Following the devastating attack on Federation Resistance forces in Seattle, which significantly weakened the Seattle Riots, the war reached a stalemate.
In response to the shifting tides of battle, command of Heirshy was transferred from Garma Zabi back to Kycilia Zabi. Despite this change in leadership, Heirshy continued to operate on Earth, engaging in various military operations until the pivotal events at Jaburo.
During this period of stalemate, Heirshy remained an active force, conducting a series of targeted raids against Federation troops across multiple fronts. Among his most notable operations was the complete annihilation of a Federation battalion stationed in Eastern Europe. In addition to his ground-based assaults, Heirshy played a crucial role in space combat, successfully destroying four Federation space battleships and cruisers in Earth's orbit.
His relentless campaign extended beyond direct combat, as he took on the responsibility of training fresh Zeon recruits in the harsh environment of the Taklamakan Desert, a key stronghold in Zeon-occupied northern China.
Beyond the European front, Heirshy launched highly effective operations in the Pacific, where he targeted the Federation’s Media Supply Corps. His strategic strikes inflicted severe disruptions on Federation supply lines, crippling their logistical operations. Further demonstrating his tactical prowess, Heirshy executed bold offensives against Federation forces entrenched in the Himalayas, securing key victories that destabilized enemy strongholds in the region.
Despite his success on multiple fronts, Heirshy was continuously ordered by Admiral Kycilia to undergo rigorous training in the Taklamakan Desert.
The prolonged training regimen was designed to maintain his combat readiness and ensure he remained a formidable asset to the Zeon war effort. This period of intense preparation continued for months, reinforcing his skills and discipline.
However, the course of the war took a dramatic turn when intelligence reports surfaced regarding an unidentified Federation project at Side 7. Recognizing the potential significance of this development, Heirshy was soon dispatched to investigate. It was during this mission that he would come face-to-face with the future crew of the White Base, setting the stage for a pivotal encounter that would alter the trajectory of the conflict.
Side 7 Attack[]
Following the victorious Zeon attack on Earth, Garma Zabi provided Heirshy with a direct communication line to Admiral Kycilia Zabi. Acting under her orders, Heirshy was instructed to leave the planet and investigate reports of unidentified activity occurring in space. Wasting no time, he launched from California Base and set a course for Side 7, a space colony suspected of harboring secretive Federation operations.
Upon arrival at Side 7, Heirshy quickly learned that a Zeon scout unit piloting a Zaku II had been surveying the area but was now under heavy fire from Federation forces.
The pilot, unable to hold his ground, urgently requested reinforcements. Recognizing the critical nature of the situation, Heirshy intervened, covering the scout’s escape and ensuring he returned safely to the Zeon homeland with his intelligence reports.
Shortly after, Heirshy himself withdrew from the battlefield, but not before gathering enough information to confirm the Federation’s secretive V Project, a mobile suit development program that could shift the balance of power in the ongoing war.
Upon receiving Heirshy’s report, Admiral Kycilia immediately ordered him to return to Side 7 to conduct a direct assault on the facility responsible for the V Project. To support his mission, she assigned a Musai-class cruiser, commanded by the renowned Zeon ace Char Aznable, to accompany him. With additional reinforcements consisting of four Zaku II mobile suits, Heirshy led the Zeon forces in a full-scale attack on the colony.
Unbeknownst to the Zeon invaders, however, a young civilian had stumbled upon one of the Federation’s newly constructed but yet-to-be-tested mobile suits. This boy, Amuro Ray, acting out of desperation and instinct, took control of the prototype mobile suit—later known as the RX-78-2 Gundam—just as Heirshy and his forces advanced. As the Zeon forces reached a flatbed transport carrying the new mobile suit, Amuro, despite his inexperience, activated the Gundam and engaged the enemy head-on.
What followed was a fierce battle within the confines of Side 7. Though Heirshy and his Zeon squad fought valiantly, the advanced capabilities of the Gundam quickly became apparent. The prototype mobile suit, equipped with superior armor, firepower, and agility, proved to be more than a match for the Zaku IIs. One by one, the Zeon attackers were either destroyed or forced into retreat. Despite putting up an impressive fight, Heirshy soon realized that their outdated Zakus stood no chance against the Federation’s groundbreaking new weapon.
With casualties mounting and the Gundam relentlessly overpowering them, Heirshy was left with no choice but to order a full retreat. The remaining Zeon survivors evacuated Side 7, bringing with them crucial intelligence about the Federation's new mobile suit capabilities. Though the mission had ultimately failed, it marked a turning point in the war, as the Principality of Zeon now understood the threat posed by the Federation’s V Project and the emergence of the Gundam.
This battle would set the stage for the escalating conflict between the Federation and Zeon, with Char Aznable himself soon taking a direct interest in both the Gundam and its young pilot, Amuro Ray.
Belfast Raid[]
- Main article: First Belfast Raid
After the failed data-gathering operation on Side 7 due to the unexpected activation of the Gundam, Heirshy was forced to retreat and eventually returned to Earth.
Upon his arrival, Zeon High Command reassigned him to a new mission: a raid on the Federation shipyards at Belfast Base in Ireland. This operation was crucial in disrupting the Federation's naval capabilities and spreading fear of a potential Zeon invasion.
Accompanying Heirshy on this mission was the skilled Zeon pilot Ariliea Surakia. Together, they launched a swift and calculated assault on Belfast Base, managing to destroy a portion of the enemy's defensive infrastructure. While their attack did not result in a full-scale destruction of the base, it was enough to cause significant concern within the Federation, prompting military leaders to place all of Ireland under lockdown in anticipation of a larger Zeon offensive.
Despite the Federation quickly mobilizing reinforcements to secure the area and counter the raid, Heirshy and Surakia had already withdrawn before they could be intercepted. Their mission was deemed a success, having achieved its objective of instilling fear and forcing the Federation to divert resources to Ireland.
Following the operation, Heirshy and Surakia parted ways. Surakia received new orders deploying her to space, where she was to participate in a large-scale Zeon offensive against the Federation's forces beyond Earth's atmosphere.
Meanwhile, Heirshy remained stationed on Earth, awaiting his next assignment as the war between the Federation and Zeon continued to escalate.
First Encounter with White Base[]
Despite the success of the Belfast Raid and the valuable intelligence Heirshy gathered from his encounter with the Gundam at Side 7, he was ultimately forced to retreat back into space.
During this time, a Musai-class cruiser under Zeon’s command was ambushed while conducting resupply operations, leaving it highly vulnerable above the Earth Federation’s Luna II base. Responding swiftly to the situation, Heirshy arrived on the battlefield, only to be confronted by Hayato Kobayashi and Ryu José.
Although Heirshy managed to pressure Hayato into retreating, the battle proved far more challenging than he had anticipated. Hayato’s growing skills as a mobile suit pilot forced Heirshy to exert himself to his limits in order to maintain the upper hand.
However, before the battle could be decided, Zeon reinforcements arrived to support Heirshy. At the same time, Amuro Ray entered the fray piloting the Gundam, cutting down a significant portion of the Zeon forces in his path. Initially seeking a rematch with Heirshy, Amuro instead found himself face-to-face with Char Aznable—the man who would later become his greatest rival.
Despite Amuro’s best efforts, the battle ultimately ended in Zeon’s favor. With the Federation forces overwhelmed, Amuro was forced to retreat, allowing the Musai to finally escape the Federation’s airspace and regroup. Following the battle, Heirshy was brought aboard Char’s Musai to receive further orders. However, rather than remaining in space, he was soon reassigned to Earth, where he was tasked with carrying out new operations in the ongoing war against the Federation.
Transfer to Odessa[]
Despite launching a formidable assault against the Unknown Gundam and encountering an unidentified crew on Luna II—who brazenly attacked one of the Zeon Musai-class cruisers during a resupply operation—Heirshy was abruptly reassigned by Admiral Kycilia. She ordered his transfer from Solomon to Odessa, as Zeon intelligence suspected that the Earth Federation was preparing a large-scale counteroffensive in Eastern Europe. This move indicated the growing urgency of the conflict on Earth and the strategic importance of Odessa as a critical supply hub and defensive stronghold for the Principality of Zeon.
Upon arriving at the Odessa Mining Base, Heirshy was warmly welcomed by M’Quve and the Zeon forces stationed there. However, not everyone was pleased with his presence.
Rambal Ral, a skilled and respected Zeon officer, harbored resentment toward Heirshy, viewing him as a rival and envying his exceptional combat skills and growing reputation in battle. This underlying tension between the two added to the already high-stakes atmosphere within the base, as preparations for the impending Federation offensive continued.
Heirshy remained stationed at Odessa until its eventual fall to the Federation during the climactic events of Operation Odessa. Recognizing the inevitable collapse of their stronghold, Admiral Kycilia issued orders to begin transferring critical supplies and directing repair efforts elsewhere.
She informed Heirshy that Odessa would serve as his new base of operations for the ongoing war on Earth. To solidify the transition, she granted him the authority to inform M’Quve that the transfer was being carried out under her direct command.
As the Federation’s offensive escalated, the battle for Odessa would mark a turning point in the Earth conflict, with Heirshy forced to adapt to new challenges in an ever-evolving war.
Hunting the Trojan Horse[]
Ambush in Orbit[]
Receiving new orders from the Zeon homeland, Admiral Kycilia Zabi opened a secure communication channel to Odessa, where Heirshy was stationed. She informed him of a newly emerging concept—NewType, a term referring to the next stage of human evolution. The Principality of Zeon was still in the early stages of uncovering its true significance, but the potential implications were immense.
Heirshy, intrigued and somewhat concerned by this revelation, resolved to gather as much intelligence on the subject as possible. However, before he could begin his research, a second transmission came through—this time from the famed Char Aznable, the "Red Comet" himself. Char requested Heirshy’s assistance in a daring ambush against the Federation’s White Base, which was expected to pass through Earth’s orbit over North America.
Understanding the strategic importance of such an attack, Heirshy agreed to join the operation. Without hesitation, he launched into space, where he rendezvoused with Char and a contingent of Zeon mobile suits, all lying in wait for the arrival of the Trojan Horse—the Zeon codename for White Base.
As soon as White Base emerged into orbit, the Zeon assault began with ruthless precision, catching the Federation ship completely off guard. A fierce space battle erupted, with both sides exchanging heavy fire in a desperate bid for control of the battlefield. Despite the well-coordinated attack and the substantial damage inflicted on White Base, the Federation’s trump card, Amuro Ray, quickly launched in the RX-78-2 Gundam, immediately engaging both Heirshy and Char in combat.
While the Gundam was undeniably superior in firepower to both Char’s Zaku II and Heirshy’s Z.89 armor, the numerical advantage of the two Zeon aces proved overwhelming. With relentless coordination, they forced Amuro onto the defensive, granting Zeon forces the opportunity to continue their relentless assault on White Base.
Meanwhile, another Zeon soldier, Crowne, eager to prove himself, disobeyed Char’s direct orders and entered the fray. He engaged Amuro recklessly, hoping to land a decisive blow. However, his insubordination proved fatal—when White Base began its emergency descent into Earth's atmosphere, Crowne was caught in its wake. His Zaku II was unable to withstand the intense heat of atmospheric entry and was incinerated in a catastrophic fireball, his screams lost in the void of space.
As the battle raged on, a new challenger emerged from White Base—Tanaka, a newly recruited Earth Federation pilot and former junk dealer, launched in a Guncannon to support Amuro. To everyone's surprise, Tanaka directly targeted Heirshy, forcing a split between him and Char.
Despite being a relative newcomer to battle, Tanaka displayed exceptional piloting skills, matching both Zeon aces in combat. His unrelenting assault forced Heirshy and Char onto the defensive, allowing Amuro to regroup and press the counterattack. This unexpected resistance from Tanaka sparked intrigue in both Zeon aces, as they had never encountered such raw talent in a rookie pilot before.
With the battle turning against them, Char made a calculated decision. Though the ambush had failed to destroy White Base outright, he cryptically assured Heirshy that everything was going according to plan. As White Base plummeted through the atmosphere, Char revealed his true intent—forcing the Trojan Horse to land in Zeon-occupied North America, where it would be far more vulnerable.
Ambush in the Grand Canyon[]
While pursuing the White Base into North America, Heirshy lands in the Grand Canyon, where Zeon ground forces, under the command of Garma Zabi, are already engaged in battle with a member of White Base’s crew. His arrival disrupts the ongoing skirmish, forcing Kai to retreat from the battlefield. As a result, White Base is left with no choice but to deploy Ryu in an attempt to turn the tide.
Despite Ryu’s valiant efforts, his GunTank sustains severe battle damage due to Heirshy’s relentless assault. Unable to continue fighting, Ryu is ultimately forced to withdraw, leaving White Base in an increasingly precarious situation as the battle intensifies.

Though Heirshy had dealt with Gundam before since September 16th, UC 0079, It wouldn't be until October 2nd, UC 0079, when Heirshy would be able to fight Gundam as himself and not through the controls of a mobile suit...
Frustrated by Herishy's interference, Captain Bright ultimately ordered Amuro to launch and eliminate the Zeon pilot. Without hesitation, Amuro deployed from White Base, leading to his first direct confrontation with Herishy in a one-on-one battle.
However, just as the fight intensified, Char Aznable made a sudden appearance, shifting the battle in Zeon's favor.
Despite being outnumbered, Amuro displayed remarkable skill, managing to destroy a significant portion of Zeon's ground forces while simultaneously engaging Char in combat. Meanwhile, Herishy provided cover for the remaining Zeon units, ensuring their retreat from the relentless reinforcements being deployed from White Base.
As the battle began turning against Zeon, Garma Zabi made the strategic decision to withdraw all remaining forces, acknowledging that further engagement would be futile. Before retreating, he infamously labeled the Gundam as a "Federation monster," a testament to the mobile suit’s devastating power on the battlefield. Thanks to Char's interference, Herishy managed to evade capture and successfully withdrew from the battle without sustaining any significant damage. However, his stay at the Zeon stronghold in Odessa was short-lived. Shortly after returning, he received new orders reassigning him to New York City, the capital of the Principality of Zeon’s North American forces.
As Herishy prepared for his transfer, a sudden change in command altered his plans. Intelligence reports indicated that Surakia was under heavy attack while conducting a test for a newly improved Dom unit in the Taklamakan Desert. Given the urgency of the situation, Zeon high command redirected Herishy, instructing him to abandon his journey to New York and instead head to China to provide support in the escalating conflict.
Rescuing Surakia[]
Upon arriving in the Taklamakan Desert, Heirshy found himself engaged in an intense battle against multiple Federation forces that had launched an attack on Surakia during her test run of the Dom Unit.
Despite his efforts, a formidable faction within the Federation—known as the Federation Resistance—soon arrived, overwhelming the battlefield with sheer numbers. The situation became dire, forcing Heirshy to prioritize Surakia’s safety. As the Resistance continued to press their advantage, he was left with no choice but to retreat with her, narrowly escaping what could have been a crushing defeat.
Just when it seemed the battle was lost, reinforcements from Zeon arrived in time to turn the tide. The fresh wave of Zeon forces launched a counteroffensive, successfully repelling the Federation assault and ultimately driving the Resistance out of the desert entirely.
Following their escape, Heirshy personally escorted Surakia back to her base of operations in California. Safe from the dangers of the battlefield, Surakia took this moment to finally reveal her true feelings for him. She confessed that once the war was over and Zeon had secured its independence, he should be prepared—because she would come for him.
However, before Heirshy could fully process or respond to her declaration, their moment was interrupted by an urgent order. He was to be deployed to New York City immediately, as intelligence confirmed that White Base was expected to pass over the area at any moment.
Realizing that they had little time left together, Heirshy made a bold move—he kissed Surakia on the lips, sealing a promise between them. Though she understood his duty, she refused to part without making her own demand: she commanded him to return to her safely. With those words lingering between them, Heirshy left for New York, prepared for whatever battle awaited him next.
The Seattle Attack[]
As White Base attempted to push through enemy lines and make its way to New York, it soon became evident that Zeon forces in the area were too overwhelming for a direct approach. Realizing that continuing eastward would lead to their inevitable destruction, the crew was forced to change course and retreat westward, setting a new destination for the ruins of Seattle.
This strategic decision showcased the intelligence and adaptability of White Base’s crew, earning the admiration of Heirshy, who was increasingly impressed by their resilience.
They understood that if they could successfully break through the ruined city, they might be able to escape Zeon-controlled territory for good. However, the challenge ahead would prove to be their most grueling battle yet.
Meanwhile, at a lavish party hosted by Garma Zabi, Char Aznable attended the gathering, which served as a platform for Garma to announce his engagement to Icelina Eschonbach, the daughter of the former mayor of New York City. However, this union was met with disapproval from Icelina’s father, who harbored deep resentment toward the Zeon, viewing them as oppressors. While the party proceeded in high spirits, darker political and military machinations were at play in the shadows.
As White Base approached Seattle, Amuro Ray, growing increasingly wary of the situation, anticipated an unavoidable confrontation with Zeon forces. He proposed a bold plan to Bright Noa, suggesting that the Gundam be deployed as a decoy to lure Zeon units away while the White Base made its escape.
However, Bright was quick to dismiss the idea, deeming it too perilous. Instead, upon entering the city, the White Base crew discovered an abandoned sports dome that provided adequate cover, prompting them to take refuge within and avoid direct engagement for the time being.
Heirshy, alongside Garma and Char, launched a relentless carpet-bombing operation over the ruins in an effort to flush out White Base. Despite their aggressive bombardment, the Federation battleship remained concealed. Frustrated by their failure to locate their target, Char took it upon himself to personally search the ruins, accompanied by Heirshy. It was then that the White Base crew, knowing their position would not remain secret forever, opted to deploy the Gundam as a decoy. Amuro engaged Zeon’s mobile suits, successfully diverting attention away from the main fleet.
During the ensuing battle, Char confronted Amuro in his mobile suit, acknowledging that the young pilot’s combat skills had improved significantly.
Meanwhile, Heirshy broke off from the fight, meticulously scanning the ruins in search of White Base. His efforts proved successful, as he not only located the Federation ship but also managed to defeat both Kai Shiden and Hayato Kobayashi in combat. However, this did not prevent Char from regrouping with Heirshy and confirming White Base’s location.
At this critical moment, Char, driven by his personal vendetta against the Zabi family, decided to manipulate the situation to his advantage. Instead of informing Garma of White Base’s actual position, he cunningly misled him, directing his forces toward a false target. As a result, Garma’s fleet suffered a catastrophic defeat. It was only then that Char revealed his betrayal, smugly admitting to Garma that he had deceived him.
Realizing his fate was sealed, Garma made a desperate last-ditch effort to turn the tide of battle. In a final act of defiance, he attempted to crash his Gaw-class carrier into White Base, hoping to take the enemy down with him. However, his efforts ended in failure, and his death became an undeniable reality.
From atop the Trojan Horse, Heirshy silently observed the scene, overcome with sorrow as the battle concluded in a tragic spectacle of destruction and betrayal.
Garma's Funeral[]
Following the death of Garma Zabi, Admiral Kycilia issued a direct order for Heirshy to return to the Zeon homeland to attend the state funeral.
As he arrived, he expected to take a place among the gathered Zeon soldiers. However, instead of being seated with the common troops, Heirshy was unexpectedly redirected by Commander Gihren Zabi himself.
Due to his unwavering loyalty to the Principality of Zeon, Gihren positioned Heirshy among the Zabi family on the central stage—a highly symbolic gesture that elevated his status in the eyes of both Zeon leadership and the broader public.
The funeral was a grand, militarized affair, broadcasted live across all of Zeon's territories, including key locations such as Odessa. As Gihren Zabi delivered a powerful speech, he framed Garma’s death as a noble sacrifice, one that furthered Zeon’s struggle for independence against the Earth Federation. The speech, filled with nationalistic fervor, reinforced Zeon’s resolve and was meant to inspire soldiers and civilians alike.
However, not everyone was moved by this display. Watching from afar, Rambal Ral, a seasoned Zeon commander and veteran, could barely contain his anger.
His frustration boiled over when he saw Heirshy standing beside Gihren during the speech—an implicit endorsement of the Zabi family's propaganda. Ramba, who had his own doubts about Zeon’s leadership, viewed this as yet another manipulation of Garma’s death for political gain.
Once the funeral concluded, Heirshy quietly departed Side 3, making his way back to Earth. Though his time at the funeral was brief, his presence on that stage had unknowingly entangled him further in the power struggles within Zeon’s high command.
Defending Musai In Orbit[]
After departing from Side 3, Heirshy set course for Earth. However, before he could reach his destination, he was intercepted by Commander Dozle, who informed him that a lone Musai-class cruiser was under heavy attack by Federation forces in satellite orbit.
Recognizing the urgency of the situation, Heirshy diverted from his route and, along with a squadron of Zaku II mobile suits, set out to assist the embattled Musai.
Upon arriving at the battlefield, Heirshy quickly assessed the dire situation—the Musai was effectively immobilized, unable to retreat or reposition without establishing contact with its coordinating Musai counterpart. Realizing that the cruiser’s survival depended on their intervention, Heirshy and the Zeon forces engaged in an intense battle against the relentless waves of Federation mobile suits.
Through a combination of strategic positioning and relentless counteroffensives, Heirshy successfully repelled the enemy assault, ensuring that the Musai could hold its position long enough to reestablish communication.
Once the second Musai arrived and contact was secured, the crippled cruiser was finally able to withdraw from its vulnerable position. With his mission accomplished, Heirshy resumed his descent toward Earth.
However, upon arrival, he was immediately approached by M’Quve, who brought urgent intelligence from Zeon scouts. According to their reports, the Federation was preparing a large-scale counteroffensive targeting a key Zeon base in Eastern Europe. With the threat of an imminent battle looming, Heirshy now faced a critical decision—one that could shape the fate of the conflict.
New York City Riot[]
Upon returning to Odessa, Heirshy received urgent intelligence regarding a large-scale riot unfolding in New York City.
The disturbance was orchestrated by a faction of Federation Resistance forces, who sought to reclaim the city following the death of Garma Zabi. The escalating violence and growing threat to Zeon’s control forced Heirshy to leave Odessa once again and return to New York to suppress the uprising before it spiraled further out of control.
Upon arrival, Heirshy swiftly deployed allied Mobile Suits to engage the Resistance fighters. His forces managed to subdue a significant portion of the insurrection in one sector of the city, dealing heavy losses to the enemy.
However, the battle quickly took a dire turn when the Gaw Attack Carrier that transported Heirshy and his reinforcements came under heavy assault by the remaining Resistance units.
The coordinated attacks posed a serious threat to Zeon’s hold over the region, forcing Heirshy to adjust his strategy to counter the unexpected resistance.
Despite the intense opposition, Heirshy and his Zeon forces successfully reclaimed the Empire State Building sector of Manhattan. In a decisive battle, they crushed the last remaining Resistance fighters in the area. While a number of insurgents were eliminated, some managed to escape through the Hudson River, potentially regrouping for future operations.
Although the New York City riot had been quelled, the conflict was far from over. Shortly after securing the city, Heirshy received an urgent directive ordering his immediate return to Odessa. A Stage 4 emergency had been declared, signaling an imminent and severe crisis. The Federation, determined to retaliate, was preparing a large-scale counteroffensive that threatened to destabilize Zeon’s stronghold.
With little time to spare, Heirshy departed once more, bracing for the next battle that could determine the fate of Odessa and, possibly, the broader war itself.
Operation Odessa[]

After successfully suppressing the riot in New York, Heirshy was swiftly transported back to Odessa. Upon his arrival, he was immediately debriefed by M'Quve regarding the Federation's impending offensive against the region.
M'Quve provided detailed intelligence on the enemy's movements, outlining their strategic objectives and the potential threat they posed to Zeon's hold over Odessa. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, Heirshy began preparing for the inevitable confrontation, knowing that the upcoming battle would be a critical turning point in the ongoing conflict.

Heirshy, stalling Federation forces at Halivov Forest in Eastern Europe, during the Federation's offensive towards Odessa on November 7th, of UC 0079...
Due to the declaration of a Stage 4 Emergency, Heirshy was granted a free campaign to disrupt the Federation's military buildup across Europe. Recognizing the looming threat, Heirshy sought to delay and weaken the Federation's forces before their large-scale offensive.
Despite being a Zeon supporter, Moses allowed the Federation to utilize his country's territory as a staging ground for the impending Odessa Operation. Similarly, Hoashi permitted the Federation to establish a foothold in Belfast, further bolstering their preparations.
In the weeks leading up to the operation, Heirshy launched a series of aggressive countermeasures, engaging in relentless attacks on key Federation supply lines, staging areas, and logistical hubs. In a bold strategic move, he even extended his assaults to England and Belfast, aiming to destabilize the enemy before their full mobilization could be completed.
Despite Heirshy and Zeon forces carrying out relentless raids and sabotage efforts, the Federation remained undeterred and proceeded with their Odessa Operation as planned.
As the large-scale battle commenced, Heirshy found himself on the frontlines for the next two days, leading desperate defensive efforts to prevent the Federation from breaching Eastern Europe. His campaign took him across multiple war zones, forcing him to rapidly shift between the Eastern European battlefront, North China, and even the Himalayas, where Zeon forces struggled to maintain their positions against overwhelming odds.
Although Heirshy's efforts significantly delayed the Federation's advance and inflicted heavy casualties, the sheer scale of the Federation’s assault ultimately proved too much to contain, pushing Zeon forces into a defensive retreat.
The battles that unfolded across these regions would go on to shape the larger conflict between Zeon and the Federation, marking a critical turning point in the war.

Heirshy evading Fire from the Federation, while Stalling their Advance toward Odessa Mining Base on November 7th, UC 0079...
Despite receiving substantial support from numerous Zeon forces, Heirshy struggled under the relentless pressure of fighting on multiple fronts. The continuous battles drained his stamina, gradually pushing him to his limits.
As the war reached the borders of Ukraine, drawing closer to the critical Odessa Mining Base, Heirshy remained steadfast in his mission, fighting alongside the Zeon defenders in the desolate wastelands. However, the Earth Federation's numerical advantage was overwhelming, and their forces far outnumbered those of the Principality of Zeon.
Among the Zeon ranks, Ramba Ral, a seasoned and strategic warrior, observed Heirshy's deteriorating condition. He quickly realized that each intense battle was wearing Heirshy down, making him more vulnerable with every engagement.
Concern turned to suspicion when Ral learned that the Trojan Horse—an infamous Federation warship carrying a crew of formidable NewTypes—was fast approaching the battlefield.
Recognizing Heirshy’s growing exhaustion and seeing an opportunity to eliminate a potential liability, Ramba Ral made a calculated decision. Under the guise of assigning him a crucial task, Ral covertly orchestrated a plan to send Heirshy directly into the path of the Trojan Horse and its elite crew. With Heirshy weakened and fatigued, the likelihood of his survival was slim. To Ral, this was not just a means to dispose of an increasingly fragile soldier but also a way to shift the burden of the conflict away from Zeon’s struggling forces.
Unaware of the true intentions behind his deployment, Heirshy marched forward, unknowingly stepping into what could be his final battle.
Treachery At Odessa[]
As the war in Eastern Europe escalated and the Earth Federation's offensive neared Odessa, Heirshy was ordered to return to the mining facility to rest and recover from his previous battles.
However, Ramba Ral, a seasoned Zeon commander, recognized the grim reality behind these orders—Heirshy's fate had already been sealed. While the rest of Zeon's forces desperately fought to hold back the Federation onslaught, Heirshy remained in Odessa, attempting to recuperate.
Meanwhile, as Ramba Ral patrolled the battlefield, he spotted the Trojan Horse, the codename for the Federation’s White Base, soaring over the desert. Realizing the Federation was positioning itself for a decisive strike, Ramba Ral devised a plan to use Heirshy as bait. Under the pretense of reinforcing Zeon’s western flank—a strategically nonexistent position—Heirshy was ordered back into the desert, alone. In reality, this was a calculated move to lure White Base into an engagement, sacrificing Heirshy in order to weaken the Federation’s forces.
Despite his exhaustion and incomplete recovery, Heirshy complied with his orders and ventured back into the war-torn sands. However, Zeon provided him with support in the form of a Gallop-class land battleship, an acknowledgment of his deteriorating condition. Though the landship was tasked with assisting Heirshy, it was ultimately meant to be a last resort to ensure his mission played out to Zeon’s advantage.
Soon enough, White Base detected Heirshy and the Gallop-class battleship on their long-range scanners. Amuro Ray and Tanaka were immediately deployed to engage the Zeon forces.
Though their primary orders were to defend Federation operations rather than engage Heirshy directly, Bright Noa made a bold decision—he defied orders, determined to eliminate one of Zeon’s most skilled and respected aces once and for all.
As Heirshy engaged the overwhelming Federation forces, he quickly realized the scale of the battle had shifted against him. The Federation’s superior numbers made it impossible for him to fight his way to safety, and every attempt to call Odessa for reinforcements failed—none of his transmissions reached M’Quve’s headquarters.
Nevertheless, his exceptional combat prowess led to the deaths of hundreds of Earth Federation soldiers, forcing Bright to change tactics. Instead of relying solely on Federation troops to weaken Heirshy, Bright ordered Amuro and Tanaka—who had been holding back—to finally engage.
By this point, the Gallop-class battleship had managed to retreat to a safe distance, avoiding destruction. However, instead of abandoning Heirshy and retreating to Odessa, the crew made a fateful decision—they remained at the battlefield's edge, providing covering fire and making another desperate attempt to contact Odessa for reinforcements.
As Heirshy identified a weak point in the Federation’s lines, he saw a fleeting chance to escape. He pushed forward, fighting his way toward the Gallop, only to be intercepted by Amuro and Tanaka. A ferocious three-way duel erupted between the three ace pilots as the Gallop continued its transmissions. This time, a signal finally reached Odessa, and reinforcements were dispatched to aid Heirshy. However, Tanaka, intercepting the communication, realized that they had limited time before Zeon’s backup arrived. Seizing the moment, he and Amuro pressed the attack, hoping to eliminate Heirshy before reinforcements could turn the tide.
Heirshy, now completely outnumbered and exhausted, struggled to hold his own. Amuro managed to sever one of his mobile suit’s arms and slice his shield in half, sending him crashing into the sand. Tanaka swiftly followed up, driving his light sword through Heirshy’s torso, believing he had struck the pilot down for good. Yet, to their surprise, Heirshy’s Z-89 mobile suit did not explode upon defeat—an unusual occurrence that caught Tanaka’s attention.
Recognizing that the Z-89 displayed highly advanced movements, eerily mimicking human reflexes, Tanaka requested permission to recover Heirshy’s body for further study. However, Bright Noa denied the request, instead ordering the immediate withdrawal of Amuro and Tanaka as Zeon reinforcements arrived on the battlefield. With the Federation forces already retreating from the desert, Heirshy and the remnants of the Gallop-class battleship were the only Zeon survivors left behind.
Soon after, Zeon reinforcements successfully recovered Heirshy's remains and transported him back to Odessa before sending him into space, bound for Solomon, Zeon’s stronghold. Just six hours later, the inevitable occurred—Odessa fell to the Federation, marking a decisive victory in the Earth Federation’s campaign against Zeon.
Though Heirshy’s fate remained uncertain, his desperate last stand in the desert had bought Zeon valuable time, and his legacy as one of their most valiant warriors endured, even as the war raged on.
Forged Death and Transfer to Solomon[]
Heirshy was secretly reconstructed on Solomon after suffering severe injuries in battle. However, the rest of the Principality of Zeon, with the exception of M'Quve and Dozle Zabi, believed him to be dead.
Seizing an opportunity, Dozle Zabi decided to exploit Heirshy's supposed demise as a psychological weapon against the Earth Federation. By allowing the Federation to assume that Heirshy had perished, Dozle aimed to instill fear and uncertainty in their ranks.
In the days following the fall of Odessa, Heirshy was reassigned to active combat and ordered to pilot Zeon mobile suits such as the Zaku II and Rick Dom.
His battlefield prowess and resilience made him a valuable asset, though his presence remained a well-guarded secret. Once his staged death was successfully established, Heirshy was immediately placed under Dozle Zabi’s direct command, operating in the shadows of Zeon's military forces.
He continued to serve Dozle loyally, engaging in numerous high-risk missions while remaining concealed from both enemies and even most of Zeon’s forces.
However, his tenure under Dozle’s command was destined to end with the fall of Solomon, the strategic Zeon stronghold. As the Earth Federation’s counteroffensive intensified, Heirshy found himself caught in the tide of war, facing a fate that could no longer be manipulated by deception alone.
Covering Zeon Retreat[]
After the intense battles at Odessa, Heirshy returned to Earth piloting a Zaku II to assist in the Zeon withdrawal from the region. As the Principality of Zeon forces retreated into Europe, Heirshy operated under the radar, avoiding detection by both the Earth Federation and his own faction until an unexpected engagement at the Odessa Mining Base occurred several days later.
As Zeon forces attempted to retreat through the dense forests of Eastern Europe, they came under heavy fire from pursuing Federation forces. Despite suffering significant casualties, the Zeon troops pressed forward, though their survival appeared uncertain. At a critical moment, Heirshy arrived just in time, engaging the enemy with precision and ferocity. His intervention turned the tide of battle, forcing the Federation to withdraw and allowing the remaining Zeon forces to slip further into Europe.
Following his success in Europe, Heirshy set his sights on assisting Zeon forces retreating into Central Asia via the Himalayas. While the initial withdrawal had been somewhat successful—Zeon forces had managed to break through Federation barricades in the Middle East—their journey quickly took a devastating turn.
Upon reaching the Himalayas, the retreating Zeon troops were ambushed and overwhelmed by Federation units, which had anticipated their movements.
The Federation’s superior Mobile Suit forces established a blockade, preventing Zeon reinforcements from arriving in time. This left the retreating convoy completely vulnerable to a total massacre. However, before the Federation could deliver a finishing blow, Heirshy once again arrived just in time, battling through the hostile terrain to reach the besieged Zeon forces.
As the Federation launched a final ambush in the treacherous mountain passes, Heirshy engaged in a brutal fight against overwhelming enemy Mobile Suits.
Despite the Federation’s numerical and technological advantage, his presence turned the battle in Zeon's favor. Through sheer determination and tactical prowess, he repelled the attacking forces long enough for the Zeon convoy to break free. The remnants of the Zeon army successfully escaped into Asia, evading complete annihilation at the hands of the Federation.
Following these crucial battles, Dozle Zabi personally credited Heirshy as the "Hero of Zeon," recognizing his vital role in ensuring the survival of the Principality’s forces. His actions during the retreat from Odessa and the harrowing escape through the Himalayas became legendary, securing his place in the annals of Zeon’s history.
Return to Odessa[]
Following his valiant efforts in defending the Zeon retreat, Heirshy was personally rewarded by Dozle Zabi, who recognized his heroism and granted him permission to lead an assault on the Federation-controlled Odessa.
As a symbol of his resurgence, Heirshy's armor was repainted from its original red to a striking combination of black and dark blue, signifying both his rebirth and the terror he intended to instill in the Earth Federation. His return from supposed death would serve as a psychological weapon, striking fear into the hearts of those who believed they had eliminated him.
Upon returning to Earth, Heirshy landed in the massive Odessa Crater, a battleground scarred by previous conflicts. Accompanying him was an ally piloting a captured Federation Gun Tank, further turning the enemy's weapons against them.
Without hesitation, the two warriors launched a devastating assault on Odessa, cutting through Federation defenses and leaving a trail of destruction in their wake. Their onslaught set vital installations ablaze, reduced key structures to rubble, and obliterated anything that stood in their way.
Despite having mobile suits stationed to protect the base, the Earth Federation forces found themselves completely overwhelmed. The sight of Heirshy, who was believed to be dead, standing at the forefront of the attack sent shockwaves through their ranks, paralyzing many with fear. Their morale faltered, and their defense lines crumbled under the sheer ferocity of Heirshy’s onslaught.
As the Federation struggled to mount an effective counterattack, news of the Odessa Raid reached the White Base. Realizing the gravity of the situation, Amuro Ray and Tanaka were immediately deployed to intercept the attackers.
However, by the time they arrived, it was far too late—Odessa had already suffered catastrophic damage. The once-thriving mining facility, a critical resource hub for the Federation, had been reduced to nothing but smoldering ruins.
The assault on Odessa sent shockwaves throughout both the Federation and Zeon, yet neither side had a complete understanding of what had transpired.
Many still refused to believe that Heirshy had truly returned, dismissing the attack as the work of another pilot. However, as Amuro and Tanaka scouted the area in search of survivors, they stumbled upon a recording left behind by Heirshy himself. The footage left no room for doubt—he was alive.
Realizing the threat he now posed, the recording was immediately transmitted to Federation High Command. In response, the Federation issued an emergency alert, ordering all forces to fortify their defenses and prepare for future attacks.
Heirshy had returned, and his resurrection was no longer just a rumor—it was an undeniable reality. The war had taken a dark turn, and the Earth Federation now faced a resurrected nightmare they had once thought vanquished.
Attack on Supply Routes[]
In the days following the fall of Odessa, the Earth Federation found itself struggling against continuous assaults by Heirshy, a formidable Zeon pilot who specialized in disrupting enemy supply lines. While the Federation was still recovering from the brutal Attack on Odessa, Heirshy shifted his strategy, targeting key supply routes essential for maintaining the war effort on Earth. His attacks stretched across the Pacific, Grand Canyon, Eastern Europe, and Seattle, crippling the Federation’s ability to transport food, ammunition, and equipment to its forces.
As the Earth Federation’s logistics network began to collapse, Federation pilot Tanaka volunteered for a high-risk mission, operating alone in an attempt to safeguard these supply routes. His mission took him across multiple engagement zones, yet he found himself only encountering random Zeon pilots rather than Heirshy himself. This raised concerns within the Federation command, as it became evident that Heirshy was planning something far more destructive.
Federation intelligence soon intercepted reports that Heirshy was en route to the Eastern European Forest, preparing to launch another devastating assault on a vital transport route passing through the region. This supply line was crucial to the construction of a second Gundam Mobile Suit, a weapon that could potentially turn the tide of the war in favor of the Federation.
At the time, Amuro Ray and the rest of the White Base crew were stationed in Jaburo, while Tanaka remained committed to defending other transports. Knowing that they could not afford to lose this key supply route, the Earth Federation rushed to construct a massive defensive fortification spanning the entire Eastern European Forest region. Their strategy was simple: delay Heirshy long enough for the crucial resources to reach their destinations.
Unbeknownst to the Federation, Heirshy had already intercepted classified transmissions detailing the fortifications and mobile suit deployments in the forest. Aboard a Gaw Attack Carrier, he made his way toward the battlefield, bringing with him a Zock Mobile Suit for additional firepower.
Upon arrival, Heirshy wasted no time, launching a swift and ruthless blitzkrieg assault on the Federation's defenses. With the support of the heavily armored Zock, he managed to completely clear out the Earth Federation forces in the forest within just four minutes. His assault didn’t just break through enemy lines—it annihilated them, leaving no resistance as he proceeded to attack the Media Supply Transports.
Reeling from the loss of their ground forces, the Earth Federation command initiated their second phase of defense. Determined to halt Heirshy’s rampage, they launched multiple mobile suits and Gun Cannons, utilizing heavy artillery in a last-ditch effort to protect the remaining supply transports.
The battle raged on as Federation forces desperately fired upon Heirshy’s position. The Zeon pilot soon lost his Zock ally during the fierce firefight, but he continued his relentless assault. Despite facing overwhelming resistance, Heirshy successfully destroyed a staggering total of 19 supply transports before finally withdrawing from the region.
Heirshy’s actions in the Eastern European Forest had catastrophic consequences for the Earth Federation. The destruction of the supply convoys effectively eliminated the Federation’s only chance of constructing a second Gundam, a major setback that would cripple their war effort for weeks to come.
With no further threats to Zeon’s objectives in the region, the attacks on the Media Supply Corps ceased, marking a strategic victory for Heirshy. Having completed his mission, he was ordered by Commander Dozie to return to Solomon for repairs and recognition for his achievements. His actions had significantly weakened the Federation’s hold on Earth, ensuring Zeon’s dominance for the foreseeable future.
Reunion with Char Aznable[]
Belfast Diversion[]
While stationed on Solomon, Heirshy was unexpectedly recalled to Earth to participate in a critical operation orchestrated by Zeon’s high command.
The mission's objective was to infiltrate the Trojan Horse while it was docked at Belfast by secretly inserting a spy aboard the White Base. To ensure the plan’s success, Heirshy and a squad of allied mobile suits were tasked with creating a large-scale diversion, drawing enemy attention away from the infiltration.
Upon reentry, Heirshy crash-landed into the frigid waters of the English Channel before regrouping with three Z'Gok mobile suits. Wasting no time, the unit launched a devastating assault on Belfast Base, swiftly dismantling its defenses. As the battle raged on, Heirshy engaged multiple Federation mobile suits, defeating each opponent within moments, demonstrating his superior combat prowess.
Despite his overwhelming success, Heirshy remained unaware that his every move was being closely monitored by both White Base and the infamous Char Aznable. Even with his color scheme altered from red to black and dark blue, Char’s keen intuition allowed him to recognize Heirshy's true identity and predict his actions.
As the Zeon forces gained the upper hand, Hoashi, another key Zeon combatant, found himself struggling against a relentless assault led by the Federation's Invader Gavin.
In response, White Base signaled that it was preparing to launch its mobile suits to repel the attack. Within minutes, Kai Shiden launched from White Base to defend Belfast, personally engaging Heirshy in combat.
Meanwhile, both Amuro Ray and Tanaka requested permission to sortie and reinforce their allies, but Bright Noa, prioritizing their safety, denied their request and ordered them to remain aboard the ship. However, Hayato Kobayashi, acting against orders, secretly deployed his mobile suit and joined Kai in battling the Zeon attackers. Despite their efforts, Heirshy and the Zeon forces proved to be a formidable threat, dealing significant damage to the Federation defenders. Eventually, after an intense skirmish, Heirshy and his team were forced to retreat, but not before leaving Kai and Hayato’s mobile suits heavily damaged.
With the diversion successfully executed and the spy now onboard White Base, Heirshy received orders to withdraw and return to Solomon. However, instead of heading back, he was given a new directive—to pursue White Base as it moved over the Atlantic. This marked a critical shift in Zeon's strategy, indicating their intent to closely monitor and sabotage the Trojan Horse’s movements.
However, Heirshy soon revealed an unexpected weakness—his mobile suit was highly susceptible to rusting in water, an issue that could compromise his mission. In response, a specialized anti-rust oil was launched from Solomon, landing precisely in the center of Belfast’s harbor.
After applying the oil, Heirshy’s mobile suit regained full operational capability, allowing him to continue his pursuit of White Base without hindrance.
With renewed resolve, Heirshy prepared to chase his target across the Atlantic, setting the stage for an even greater confrontation in the battles to come.
Pursuing White Base[]
Heirshy pursued White Base across the Atlantic Ocean, pushing his jet pack thrusters to their absolute limit. Thanks to the specialized oil provided by Commander Dozle Zabi on Solomon, he was finally able to withstand prolonged exposure to water, allowing him to continue his relentless chase.
As White Base reached the center of the Atlantic, the crew deployed a Gun Perry, piloted by Kai Shiden, in an effort to intercept and delay Heirshy's pursuit. However, Kai quickly realized that Heirshy was not the only threat looming over White Base. A Junker-Class Submarine surfaced alongside seven Zeon amphibious mobile suits, forming an attack squadron under Heirshy's command.
Wasting no time, Heirshy focused his firepower on Kai's Gun Perry, determined to bring it down. Sensing the danger, White Base scrambled reinforcements, launching Amuro Ray in the RX-78-2 Gundam and Tanaka in his mobile suit to counter Heirshy's assault. As an intense battle raged beneath the turbulent Atlantic waves, Heirshy ordered his amphibious units to engage Amuro and Tanaka, ensuring that he could deal with the Gun Perry undisturbed.
Fighting the Gun Perry, however, proved to be more challenging than anticipated. Heirshy was forced to continually fire his thrusters at full power, breaking through the ocean's surface each time he sought a clear shot at Kai. Despite the difficulties, he managed to land a devastating blow, severely denting the Gun Perry’s armor.
Just as he prepared to deliver the finishing strike, a Core Fighter descended from the sky at high speed. Sayla Mass, piloting the fighter, had broken through the upper atmosphere and was diving straight toward him.
At the critical moment when Heirshy once again emerged from the water, Sayla rammed her Core Fighter into his midsection, dragging him into the air along with her.
As they tumbled through the sky, she attempted to open fire, but as she looked at him closely, she suddenly hesitated—realizing, to her shock, who he was. That moment of recognition cost her dearly. Seizing the opportunity, Heirshy swiftly fired his beam rifle, disabling one of her Core Fighter’s turrets before breaking free and diving back into the Atlantic. As he vanished beneath the waves, Sayla called out his name in disbelief.
With Sayla now aware of Heirshy's survival, the situation changed drastically. Instead of continuing the assault on the Gun Perry, Heirshy issued a new order—his spy was to allow White Base to proceed unimpeded and instead relay its docking coordinates. However, there was no response.
For ten grueling minutes, the battle raged on. Despite their determination, the Zeon forces suffered heavy losses, including the destruction of their Junker-Class Carrier.
Outnumbered and facing opposition from Sayla, Amuro, and Tanaka, Heirshy and his remaining forces were ultimately ordered to withdraw. White Base successfully escaped into Jaburo, where Char Aznable would later pinpoint its location using intelligence obtained from the spy.
Unbeknownst to Heirshy, however, a tragic betrayal had taken place. The spy, who had been tasked with gathering White Base’s location, had developed feelings for Kai. Torn between duty and emotion, she wavered in her loyalty, and in the chaos of battle, she met a grim fate—plunging into the depths of the Atlantic.
California Base & Reunion[]
After White Base successfully escaped, Heirshy received special orders directing him to report to California Base instead of returning to Solomon. Although slightly confused by this abrupt change in his directives, his programmed loyalty prevented him from questioning the command.
Without hesitation, Heirshy followed his orders and made his way to California Base, where he was met with an unexpected yet familiar face—Char Aznable.
Char, who had been monitoring Heirshy ever since the diversion at Belfast, expressed relief upon seeing him alive. Despite the momentary satisfaction of reuniting with his old friend, Heirshy carried grim news.
He solemnly informed Char that he had lost track of White Base and had been forced to retreat during the intense battle over the Atlantic.
To Heirshy's surprise, Char simply laughed at his report, leaving him bewildered. Sensing Heirshy’s confusion, Char revealed that their spy had already infiltrated Jaburo Base in South America before the Atlantic conflict even began. However, he admitted that there had been no contact from her since. This revelation lifted a great burden off Heirshy’s shoulders, as he realized his mission had not been a complete failure after all.
With his concerns put to rest, Heirshy was then offered a rare honor—Char Aznable personally invited him to participate in an upcoming battle that promised to be decisive in their campaign against the Earth Federation.
The battle held the potential to bring an end to the Federation once and for all. Without hesitation, Heirshy eagerly accepted the invitation, ready to fight for the cause without a second thought.
Battle of Jaburo[]

- Main article: Battle of Marriean Island (One Year War)
After gathering all available forces in the region, Char Aznable personally led a large-scale assault on Jaburo, the Earth Federation’s subterranean headquarters. Piloting his MSM-07S Z'Gok Commander Type, Char orchestrated a two-pronged attack: one on the surface and another within the underground base. Heirshy, an ace pilot under Char’s command, was given the honor of launching the first wave of the assault using a Zock, despite his strong dislike for the mobile suit’s bulky and unappealing design. Heirshy attempted to plead with Char to let him go into battle with a different unit, but Char refused. He reasoned that if the Federation caught wind of his presence, White Base would intervene, and their plans to cripple the Federation would collapse.
Despite his reservations, Heirshy deployed to Jaburo for the first time, using the Zock to neutralize coastal defenses on Marrian Island, a key entry point to the underground stronghold. He played his role strategically by posing as a new recruit within the Principality of Zeon, intentionally allowing the Zock to sustain heavy damage to avoid raising suspicion from Federation scouts.
Following the initial assault, Heirshy returned to California Base before rejoining the battle as part of the full-scale Jaburo invasion.
His role this time was to act as a decoy on the surface, attacking and crippling multiple Federation defenses around Marrian Island while the rest of the Zeon forces launched their incursion through various entry points across the region. Meanwhile, Char led the main assault underground, infiltrating Jaburo’s fortified base through its waterways while other Zeon forces breached from different access routes.
As the battle escalated, Heirshy successfully secured Marrian Island, eliminating remaining surface defenses and solidifying it as the largest entry point into Jaburo. However, once the Zeon forces had entered the underground facility, Heirshy received orders to abandon his recon position and move deeper into the base to support his allies. Inside the facility, he engaged in heavy combat against Federation forces, providing cover for advancing Zeon mobile suits. Over the course of two grueling hours, he destroyed multiple tanks and enemy mobile suits, allowing Zeon forces to push deeper into the heart of Jaburo.
As the battle unfolded, Federation General Tanaka Marsha launched a counteroffensive against Zeon’s invading forces, severely weakening their foothold. With the surface battle falling apart and Zeon units becoming scattered, Heirshy was recalled to defend the extraction point on Marrian Island, allowing retreating forces a safe exit. Despite his efforts, Tanaka’s forces overwhelmed the jungle sector and secured the river overlooking the main hangar entryway into Jaburo, dealing a significant blow to Zeon’s invasion.
Meanwhile, Char made substantial progress inside Jaburo, until he realized that Tanaka was deliberately harassing Zeon invaders underground. The Federation general himself piloted a powerful G-Unit Gundam, inflicting heavy casualties on the Zeon attack force. Char then ordered Heirshy to return underground to counter Tanaka’s interference.
Re-entering the underground battlefield, Heirshy engaged in an intense battle against Federation forces, pushing back Tanaka’s units and covering Zeon’s retreat. However, his absence from Marrian Island allowed the Federation to reclaim the surface, effectively trapping Char, Heirshy, and the remaining Zeon infiltrators within Jaburo’s underground facilities.
Despite the deteriorating situation, Heirshy managed to destroy numerous enemy units, alleviating pressure on the retreating Zeon forces until he eventually reunited with Char.
Their progress was promising, but the tide turned when Char once again encountered Amuro Ray, whose piloting skills had drastically improved since their last encounter. Unable to best Amuro in combat, Char was forced to retreat, but Heirshy chose to remain behind to hold off the enemy, vowing that he would return.
Following the failed Jaburo invasion, Char attempted one last act of sabotage by infiltrating the base and planting explosives throughout the facility. Simultaneously, he devised a rescue plan for Heirshy, who was still trapped underground. During this stealth operation, Heirshy caused havoc within Jaburo’s cavern networks, using hit-and-run tactics to divert Federation forces. However, his efforts were once again thwarted by White Base’s crew, forcing him to retreat.
During his escape, Heirshy unexpectedly encountered his sister, though their reunion was cut short. With Federation forces closing in, Char issued a stern warning, urging her to leave the Federation before making his final withdrawal from Jaburo. Heirshy ultimately escaped through the waterways, reuniting with Char as they fled the battlefield.
The failed invasion of Jaburo proved to be a turning point in the war. With Zeon’s presence on Earth significantly weakened, the Federation launched a massive counteroffensive, reclaiming much of the territory lost in the early months of the war. This shift left North Africa as the last major resistance stronghold for Zeon’s remaining forces.
Following the devastating loss at Jaburo, Char ordered Heirshy to return to Solomon, as his campaign on Earth had come to an end. Obediently, Heirshy departed for space, leaving behind a battlefield where Zeon’s ambitions had crumbled.
Second Attack on White Base[]
After receiving orders from Commander Dozle to return to Solomon, Heirshy instead detected the Trojan Horse and took the opportunity to engage White Base in combat. His decision to attack would lead to one of the most significant confrontations between the Zeon forces and the Earth Federation.
At the time, Tanaka and Amuro were not aboard White Base, as they were actively assisting the Earth Federation’s ground forces in the ongoing liberation of Earth. With the two ace pilots absent, the responsibility of defending White Base fell to Kai Shiden and Hayato Kobayashi.
Determined to redeem himself after his previous defeat at Belfast, Kai was the first to launch, eager to settle the score against Heirshy. However, what Heirshy did not realize was that following his earlier loss at Odessa, the Earth Federation had managed to recover fragments of his damaged armor. Using these remnants, Federation scientists successfully developed new weapons specifically designed to penetrate Heirshy’s formidable defenses—weapons that could finally pose a lethal threat to him.
As Heirshy engaged White Base, he was accompanied by several allied Rick Doms, forming a powerful offensive force. Once again, Kai faced off against Heirshy, but this time, thanks to the new Federation technology, he was finally able to land significant damage on the Zeon ace. Slegger Law, piloting a Core Fighter, also proved to be a nuisance for Heirshy, as the fighter's speed and maneuverability made it a difficult target.
Recognizing the growing danger, Heirshy shifted his focus, diverting his attacks toward both Kai and Hayato. Amidst the chaos of battle, Slegger eventually withdrew from the fight, and his position was taken over by Sayla Mass, who quickly engaged Heirshy in combat. Despite her efforts, Heirshy managed to score several laser hits on her Core Fighter’s fuselage, causing damage but failing to destroy her craft.
As the battle progressed, the tide began to turn in favor of the Earth Federation. With the superior firepower of the newly developed beam lasers and shells, Kai and Hayato were able to inflict devastating damage on Heirshy. His armor, once thought to be impenetrable, was now proving vulnerable under the intense assault. Recognizing that he had sustained far too much battle damage, Heirshy was ultimately forced to retreat back to Solomon, conceding the battle to the Federation forces.
Although neither Kai nor Hayato was able to destroy Heirshy completely, their victory marked a turning point in the conflict. The Earth Federation now had concrete proof that their new weapon technology was effective against Zeon’s most powerful aces. With this breakthrough, the Federation could begin mass production of advanced weapons, ensuring that future encounters with Heirshy and other high-ranking Zeon pilots would no longer be one-sided battles.
This skirmish, though not a decisive end to Heirshy’s threat, paved the way for the Earth Federation to finally develop the tools necessary to repel Zeon’s most fearsome warriors once and for all.
Disrupting the Flow of Battle Pods on Luna II[]
By December 1st, UC 0079, Heirshy arrived at Luna II with the objective of disrupting the Federation's production supply of Battle Pod Ball units, which were being automatically transferred to various facilities on the base via autopilot.
Capitalizing on the lack of Mobile Suits at the time of the operation, Heirshy successfully raided the entire base, leading to a significant loss for the Federation.
Over the course of the assault, more than 85 Battle Pods were either destroyed or captured, severely impacting the Federation's military logistics.
As a direct result of this attack, the Federation intensified its efforts to expand its fleet in space. With the looming battle against Zeon's Space Fortress Solomon, the Federation sought to bolster its forces to ensure they could launch a decisive counteroffensive. This escalation further contributed to the ongoing arms race between the Earth Federation and the Principality of Zeon.
Following his successful raid on Luna II, Heirshy was reassigned to work side by side with Cyclops Team and tasked with participating in Operation Rubicon at Side 6. This next mission would prove to be just as critical, as it played a key role in the Federation-Zeon conflict during the final stages of the One Year War.
Operation Rubicon[]
- Main article: Operation Rubicon
In December of the One Year War, Zeon intelligence discovered that the Earth Federation was secretly developing the RX-78NT-1 Gundam "Alex" in an Arctic research facility.
This prototype was designed as the successor to Amuro Ray’s RX-78-2 Gundam, intended to enhance the Federation's mobile suit capabilities. The urgency behind the project stemmed from the loss of the first major Gundam, which had been destroyed during a raid on the Federation’s Media Supply Corps, orchestrated by the infamous Zeon pilot, Heirshy.
Recognizing the threat posed by the new Gundam, Zeon High Command dispatched the Cyclops Team, an elite special forces unit, to infiltrate the Arctic facility and capture the project's materials before they could be transported into space. However, their mission quickly went awry. Despite their best efforts, the Federation successfully launched the prototype and its related components into orbit, slipping out of Zeon's grasp.
Determined to complete their objective, the Cyclops Team traced the RX-78NT-1's movements to Side 6's Libot Colony, where the Earth Federation had stationed the Gray Phantom carrier. On December 14, the team covertly infiltrated Libot, gathering intelligence on the exact location of the Gundam within the colony’s Federation base. With tensions rising, the team meticulously planned their next move: a coordinated strike to seize the prototype.
On December 19, the Cyclops Team launched an all-out assault. Their strategy involved deploying the heavily armed MS-18E Kämpfer as a diversion, with Heirshy leading the attack, while other team members infiltrated the base disguised as Federation personnel. The battle quickly turned chaotic, with both sides suffering heavy losses. Hardy, the team’s leader, along with most of his unit, was killed in combat.
Meanwhile, Christina MacKenzie, a Federation test pilot, deployed in the Gundam "Alex" to confront the enemy forces. In a fierce battle, she engaged Mikhail Kaminsky, the Zeon pilot controlling the Kämpfer, attempting to prevent further destruction within the colony. Despite their efforts, the mission seemed doomed to failure for Zeon. In a desperate and ruthless move, Colonel Killing ordered the complete destruction of Libot using a nuclear missile.
At the same time, Heirshy suffered critical deterioration from exposure to a new, unknown Federation technology that was harmful to Zeon soldiers. With his condition worsening and the mission in ruins, the Cyclops Team’s operation had ultimately failed, leaving both sides with devastating losses.

Heirshy during the time of Operation Rubicorn was mostly not assigned to Team Cyclops and was mostly ordered by the Zabi's to gather important data servers obtaining info on the where abouts of Gundam Alex, he would then be targeted by Christina Mackenzie in Gundam Alex during his search after Team Cyclops was defeated, this Photograph of Heirshy was leaked to Christina Mackenzie on the final day of Rubicorn, giving her the wisdom to fight Heirshy herself...
The last surviving member of the Cyclops Team, Bernard Wiseman, launched a desperate attack against the Federation base on Christmas Eve in an effort to complete the mission and save the colony.
Piloting the MS-06FZ Zaku II Kai, he fought valiantly despite overwhelming odds. In response, Christina Mackenzie deployed in the experimental RX-78NT-1 Gundam "Alex", determined to stop him while minimizing further damage to the colony.
As the intense battle unfolded, both mobile suits sustained severe damage, ultimately leading to Wiseman's tragic demise.
Despite the devastating loss of most of the Cyclops Team, Heirshy remained combat-capable and continued his mission, focusing on gathering intelligence rather than indiscriminately killing innocent people.
During his infiltration of the facility, Heirshy successfully demolished a large hangar while searching for crucial data. However, unbeknownst to him, his presence was captured in a photograph taken by an unidentified Earth Federation soldier. Shortly after securing one of the official servers containing classified information on the Gundam Alex, Heirshy unknowingly exposed himself to Christina Mackenzie, who was alerted to his presence soon after.

Heirshy battling Christina Mackenzie in Gundam Alex during the final hours of Operation Rubicorn...
After successfully obtaining several servers and downloading critical data, Heirshy was ordered by Kycilia to proceed to the official Concor Complex, where the final pieces of information necessary for Gundam Alex were stored.
However, before he could reach his destination, Heirshy was intercepted by Christina Mackenzie, piloting the Gundam Alex. At that moment, he made a chilling discovery—he was the last remaining member of the Zeon forces.
Despite receiving multiple urgent orders to immediately disengage and return Gundam Alex to base, Christina saw this as her chance to eliminate the legendary Zeon pilot who had remained undefeated since the start of the One Year War. Ignoring her orders, she engaged Heirshy in battle, determined to bring an end to his reign.
Though she fought valiantly and displayed remarkable skill, Christina soon realized she was outmatched. Heirshy's combat abilities far surpassed hers, and unbeknownst to her at the time, he was no ordinary pilot—he was a living Mobile Suit, a fusion of man and machine. As the battle raged on, Christina struggled to comprehend the full extent of Heirshy's power, realizing too late that she had walked into a fight she could not win.

Gundam Alex following Christina's defeat after Heirshy shot the Mobile Suit through a weak spot destroying the core.
During the battle, Heirshy exploited a critical weak spot within the Gundam Alex, striking it with precise fire. This caused the entire Mobile Suit to shut down, rendering it completely inoperable.
However, rather than triggering an explosion, Heirshy's attack merely disabled the Gundam, inadvertently sparing Christina Mackenzie's life. Despite this, she sustained injuries from the impact and, before losing consciousness, she caught a glimpse of Heirshy through her cockpit cameras.
As she watched, Heirshy removed his helmet, revealing his human face for the first time. In that moment, he acknowledged Christina as a worthy opponent and urged her to never stop fighting. Before she could process his words, Earth Federation reinforcements arrived on the scene. Realizing he was outnumbered, Heirshy swiftly retreated, escaping from Side 6 and vanishing into the depths of space, never to return.
Although Heirshy successfully prevented the Gundam Alex from ever reaching its intended deployment against Zeon forces, he was ultimately unable to reach Concor, a strategic location that had been part of his original objective. Nevertheless, his efforts had long-lasting consequences.
Three days later, on December 23rd, UC 0079, during the infamous Operation Christmas, the Gundam Alex was completely destroyed in battle. The operation was led by Bernard Wiseman, a Zeon pilot who perished that same day.
Despite failing to acquire all of the Gundam’s initial combat data, Heirshy was not condemned by Zeon command. His ability to disable what they referred to as the Second Federation Monster was considered a significant victory, granting the Principality of Zeon a tactical advantage in the final days of the One Year War.
His actions contributed to strategic developments that would shape Zeon's last stand against the Federation.
Following the events of Operation Rubicon, Heirshy was later deployed to participate in the defense of Solomon, taking part in the Federation's massive counteroffensive, known as Operation Cemballo. As the war drew closer to its end, his fate would ultimately be decided on the battlefield.
Battle of Solomon[]
- Main article: Battle of Solomon (One Year War)
Despite the initial draw back including Heirshy's badly damaged body, the Earth Federation began to make preparations on launching a full scale counter attack against the Principality of Zeon in space, many space Colonies that were occupied by Zeon suffered multiple attacks by the Federation, forcing Heirshy to deploy from Solomon and help repel the attacks, but Heirshy soon was forced back to Solomon, after learning of the Federation's planned Attack against the Zeon Space Fortress.
Despite being battered from endless fights around the colonies in order to remove the Federation, Commander Dozle Zabi, immediately set Herishy off to assault the Federation in Earth's atmosphere as they were launching from Jaburo, with the aide of an entire Zeon Army. Despite taking down a great number of ships, the Federation fleet was able to make it into space, and amass for Operation Solomon.
Heirshy was quickly given maintenance work, before being sent out again in order to patrol Solomon's air space in order to eliminate any forms of Federation scouts that enter the area.
Even though he was successful in conducting these attacks against Federation scouts, the Federation fleet arrived, beginning the Battle of Solomon.
During the heavy fighting, Heirshy was mostly placed on the frontline by Commander Dozle Zabi in order to block the Federation from reaching the surface.
He was able to aide multiple Musai Cruisers in the A Field area of Solomon, and prevent the Federation from breaking through the region, until eventually learning that the L Field section of Solomon's space was broken through by Tanaka Marsha, and was now Invading the surface of the Space Fortress.
In retaliation, Dozle ordered Heirshy away from A Field and back to the surface of Solomon in order to help repel the attack by the Federation. Tanaka had already left the fortress before Heirshy's arrival, and because of this one mistake, Heirshy was able to successfully able to counter attack with the Zeon defenders on the surface of Solomon, forcing the first wave of Federation forces back into space. Despite this victory Tanaka was able to escort a fleet of Federation Battle ships and cruisers towards A Field eventually breaking through the Musai Defense line, forcing Heirshy to remain on the surface of Solomon with the defenders.
The second wave was soon unleashed by the Federation, only this time for Amuro to arrive on the field, forcing casualties on the Zeon Defenders, and even causing grave Damage to Hairshy itself.
Despite these turn of events, Heirshy and the rest of the Zeon Defenders were able to quell the second wave again, only for the Fortress to be struck by the Federation's super weapon, the Solar System Cannon.
Realizing that the fortress was in no shape to hold another Federation attack, Dozle Zabi, after learning of Zeon's command to abandon Solomon decided to fight with Big Zam (A Mobile Armor that Heirshy himself was given the honor to escort during testing back on Texas Colon, 3 days prior to Operation Solomon.
As the Federation fleet began to overrun the remaining defense fields around Solomon, the surface became more brutal to defend, as Heirshy constantly despite heavy damaged conducted by Amuro, continued to strive off the Federation forces until Big Zam was launched.
While Dozle fended off the Federation invasion on the surface, while being escorted by Heirshy, Tanaka later returned to the surface to battle Heirshy in a one on one Battle, Heirshy was able to win against Tanaka forcing him to retreat, but Slegger soon arrived crashing his G-Fighter into Big Zam, where not long after an enraged Amuro reappeared onto the surface, in order to avenge Slegger's death.
Heirshy is unable to defend Dozle as he could do nothing but watch as Amuro defeats the Zeon Commander, thought he attempts to run over and give aide, he is soon shot by Tanaka, who eventually returned in a Guncannon, finally forcing the Zeon Mascot to collapse due to receiving too much Battle damage.
White Base Captures Heirshy[]
After a fierce battle, Amuro and Tanaka successfully defeat Dozle, leaving the robotic man, Heirshy, in no condition to fight or even move. Seizing the opportunity, Amuro, piloting the Gundam, and Tanaka, controlling the Guncannon, quickly move in to capture Heirshy. With coordinated effort, they each grab him by his arms and legs and carry him back to White Base. Once aboard, they hastily toss him inside, securing what they believe to be a major victory.
However, just as the Trojan Horse (White Base) prepares to escape, three Musai-class Cruisers suddenly emerge, blocking its path. The enemy ships waste no time in deploying Mobile Suits, posing an immediate threat to the White Base and its crew.
Understanding the urgency of the situation, Sayla quickly sends out a distress call to the Federation fleet, which responds promptly. Unfortunately, before reinforcements can arrive, Zeon forces execute a daring rescue operation.
Two Gelgoog Mobile Suits swiftly infiltrate White Base’s hangar, firing precise shots that breach the section where Heirshy is being held.
In a carefully coordinated move, they recover Heirshy and make a swift retreat back into space, leaving the White Base crew stunned. Enraged by the sudden turn of events, Amuro attempts to launch in the Gundam to pursue and recapture Heirshy, but Bright Noah intervenes, firmly ordering him to stand down. Bright explains that the Gundam has sustained significant damage and requires full repairs before it can be deployed again.
With Heirshy safely retrieved, the Musai Cruisers that had initially blocked White Base’s airspace suddenly disperse in multiple directions just as the Federation fleet arrives, further shocking the already bewildered crew.
It becomes clear that the Principality of Zeon values Heirshy immensely—perhaps more than the White Base crew had previously realized. The failed capture mission makes it evident that Heirshy is now a top priority target, and retrieving him will be crucial in the battles ahead.
Meanwhile, after his dramatic escape from Solomon, Heirshy is transported directly to A Baoa Qu, the heavily fortified stronghold of Zeon. Upon arrival, he is immediately taken to a maintenance bay, where efforts begin to stabilize him and ensure his recovery from the injuries he sustained during the battle.
As tensions escalate, it becomes clear that the battle for supremacy is far from over. White Base, now more determined than ever, must prepare for an even greater challenge ahead—one that will test their resolve against the full might of Zeon’s forces.
Texas Colony Ambush[]
Following extensive repairs at A Baoa Qu, Heirshy, now back under the command of Admiral Kycilia Zabi, was reunited with M’Quve, who informed him that Amuro Ray had been lured into the barren Texas Colony as part of a trap. M’Quve even extended an invitation for Heirshy to participate in eliminating the Gundam from the war once and for all. Despite not informing Admiral Kycilia of the mission, Heirshy agreed to accompany M’Quve in the operation. However, Char Aznable, who had overheard their discussion, waited outside the room after M’Quve left, and Heirshy walked out. Instead of opposing Heirshy’s decision, Char advised him to follow his own path, rather than blindly adhering to the orders of others.
Upon arriving at Texas Colony, Heirshy found himself in the middle of an intense battle, where Amuro Ray was fighting against the surrounding Zeon forces. Seeing an opportunity to disable the Gundam, Heirshy engaged Amuro in battle atop a mountain. The fight was fierce—Heirshy managed to destroy Amuro’s shield, but in turn, he was slashed across the torso and sent tumbling off a cliff, landing hard on the rocky surface below. As Amuro descended to finish him off, he noticed that Heirshy's helmet had cracked open, revealing a human face beneath the mask.
This revelation shocked Amuro, causing him to hesitate. Rather than delivering the final blow, he landed the Gundam and approached Heirshy, cautiously removing his opponent’s helmet. As Amuro processed what he was seeing, he attempted to radio White Base to report this unexpected discovery.
However, before he could do so, Heirshy slowly stood up. Expecting another battle, Amuro prepared himself, but Heirshy did not attack. Instead, he looked at Amuro and simply said:
“You're a good kid, Amuro. I see a great future for you in war—one where you’ll save many lives and protect those you care about. Never stop fighting.”
Amuro was taken aback by Heirshy's words, sensing something deeper behind them.
However, their moment was soon interrupted as M’Quve arrived to engage in battle. Remembering what Char had told him earlier at A Baoa Qu, Heirshy made a critical decision—he let Amuro go, telling him to escape while he stayed behind.
Amuro hesitated for a moment but ultimately took Heirshy's offer but M'Quve caught up and engaged him not long after, causing his death at Amuro’s hands and allowing him to escape Texas Colony.
Following Amuro’s escape, Char Aznable and Lalah Sune arrived at Texas Colony, with Lalah piloting Char’s Gelgoog. However, instead of reprimanding Heirshy for letting Amuro go, Char was impressed by his ability to make his own choices rather than blindly following orders. Without any hostility, Char escorted Heirshy back to A Baoa Qu, where he underwent another round of repairs.
Unfortunately, not everyone approved of Heirshy's actions. Johnny Ridden, a high-ranking Zeon pilot, saw Heirshy’s decision as treachery and secretly began plotting an assassination against him. However, many Zeon soldiers who had survived the failed ambush against Amuro chose to remain silent, as they had developed a newfound respect for Heirshy’s decision.
Heirshy's next major battle took place in Federation-controlled Solomon space, where a massive Zeon-Federation battle was unfolding. During this chaotic engagement, Heirshy sustained severe injuries once again, this time due to the arrival of Team 9, an elite Federation unit. With the Zeon forces suffering heavy losses, Heirshy was forced to retreat aboard a Musai, withdrawing back to A Baoa Qu.
Despite everything, Heirshy’s role in the war remained uncertain—his actions had set him apart from both his allies and enemies, leaving him in a precarious position as tensions within Zeon’s ranks continued to rise. His fate was now intertwined with the final battles of the war, where he would have to decide once and for all which path he truly wished to follow.
Escorting Elemth[]
While en route back to A Baoa Qu, Heirshy unexpectedly reactivated before the retreating Zeon ships could reach the space fortress. Despite his injuries and the depleted condition of the Musai crew transporting him, Heirshy was personally ordered by Commander Gihren Zabi to escort the newly developed mobile armor, Elmeth.
However, this decision was met with strong opposition from Kycilia Zabi, who argued that Heirshy's injuries rendered him unfit for battle. Many of the Musai crew members shared her concerns, believing that Heirshy was in no condition to fight again so soon.
Nevertheless, Heirshy ultimately agreed to the assignment after learning that Lalah Sune would be piloting the Elmeth, despite Kycilia and the crew's continued objections. Gihren assured them that Heirshy’s role was temporary—he would only serve as an escort until Char Aznable arrived to assume command of the mission.
Determined to fulfill his duty, Heirshy launched from the Musai and made his way back toward Solomon, where he rendezvoused with Lalah and the Elmeth. The two quickly engaged in battle against the Earth Federation’s mobile suits, cutting down numerous enemy units with their superior firepower and Newtype abilities. Their momentum was seemingly unstoppable—until the launch of the RX-78-2 Gundam, piloted by Amuro Ray.
As Amuro entered the battlefield, Heirshy did everything in his power to keep the Gundam at bay, recognizing its immense threat. However, Lalah, who had grown emotionally attached to Char, continued to push forward against Amuro, much to Heirshy's surprise and frustration.
The battle intensified as Char finally arrived in his custom Red Gelgoog, engaging Amuro in a fierce duel. Moments later, Sayla Mass entered the fray piloting the G-Fighter, escalating the already chaotic battle.
Heirshy redirected his focus to preventing Sayla from interfering with Char’s duel against Amuro, doing everything he could to keep her at bay. Meanwhile, Lalah continued battling Amuro with the Elmeth’s formidable remote-controlled funnels, but in a tragic turn of events, she was struck down. The Elmeth was destroyed by Amuro’s Gundam, resulting in Lalah’s death.
Heirshy could only watch in horror as Char and Amuro, both in shock at the devastating loss, ceased fighting and withdrew from the battlefield. This left Heirshy alone against an onslaught of Federation mobile suits. Despite being outnumbered, he fought valiantly until reinforcements from the Musai provided support, allowing him to escape.
Weakened and reeling from the battle, Heirshy returned to the Musai and set course for A Baoa Qu, desperately seeking repairs and recovery before the inevitable final confrontation of the war.
Attack on Luna II & Firing of the Solar Ray[]
Following the intense skirmish at the Texas Colony, Heirshy was swiftly repaired and soon found himself alongside Commander Gihren Zabi, who was preparing to address the citizens of Zeon.
In his speech, Gihren announced a decisive counteroffensive against the Earth Federation fleet, unveiling a powerful weapon known as the Solar Ray Cannon. This devastating superweapon was intended to be used against General Revil and his fleet, aiming to cripple the Federation’s forces in one fell swoop.
However, before Heirshy could fully absorb the significance of this operation, he was abruptly intercepted by Kycilia Zabi, Gihren’s sister.
She informed him that the Federation was rapidly amassing forces at Luna II, a strategic military base near the Earth Sphere. Recognizing the potential threat, Kycilia overrode Gihren’s orders and directed Heirshy to launch an immediate attack on Luna II, hoping to weaken the Federation’s defenses before their counteroffensive could fully materialize.
Accepting Kycilia’s orders without hesitation, Heirshy was quickly assigned to a Musai-class cruiser, which managed to evade enemy detection and infiltrate Federation-controlled space. Upon arriving at Luna II, he and an unidentified ally commenced a surprise assault, targeting any Mobile Suits and defensive structures they encountered on the lunar surface. Their attack inflicted heavy damage on the Federation’s military installations, significantly disrupting operations at the base.
Despite the initial success of the raid, Federation reinforcements from Side 7 arrived sooner than expected, overwhelming Heirshy and his ally. As the battle intensified, Heirshy was forced into a hasty retreat after his comrade was killed in action. Narrowly escaping before the arrival of the White Base, Heirshy managed to withdraw to A Baoa Qu, Zeon’s final stronghold.
Upon returning, Heirshy was met with shocking news—the Solar Ray Cannon had been fired. While the weapon had successfully wiped out nearly half of the Federation fleet, reports surfaced that Sovereign Degwin Zabi, the ruler of Zeon, had been caught in the blast’s path. However, the reports remained inconclusive, leaving Heirshy deeply unsettled and confused about the true extent of the attack’s consequences.
Before he could fully process the situation, Heirshy received an urgent transmission from Johnny Ridden, stationed at A Baoa Qu. Ridden informed him that Federation forces were regrouping on Earth, preparing for a renewed assault.
Heirshy was ordered to return to Earth immediately and eliminate the threat before it could escalate. This directive left Heirshy in further confusion—after all, Zeon had lost control of New York to the Federation in early December. How could another large-scale counteroffensive already be forming?
Before Heirshy could voice his concerns, Johnny abruptly cut off communication, leaving him with unanswered questions and an uncertain mission ahead.
First Assassination attempt on Earth[]
Following Johnny Ridden’s cryptic and unsettling orders, Heirshy’s Musai-class cruiser returned to Earth’s orbit, preparing for an unexpected deployment over New York City.
Upon descent, Heirshy was met with an alarming discovery—the city was fortified with Federation ground-based Gundam units, making it an active warzone. Unbeknownst to him, the Earth Federation had anticipated Zeon’s movements, turning New York into a heavily defended stronghold.
As Heirshy began his operation, he quickly found himself ambushed by Federation mobile suits and artillery emplacements spread throughout the ruins of the city. Despite his skills, the overwhelming numbers and strategic placements of the enemy forces left him with little choice but to retreat. Utilizing the devastated landscape as cover, Heirshy maneuvered through the ruins, evading capture while calling for reinforcements from his Musai in orbit.
In response to his distress signal, the Musai began deploying reinforcements to the surface in an effort to support Heirshy. However, the Federation’s anti-air defenses proved devastating, with many Zeon mobile suits and transport crafts being shot down before they could even land. The reinforcements that did manage to touch down were met with heavy resistance, turning the battle into a brutal, drawn-out urban conflict.
Determined to complete his mission, Heirshy pushed forward, systematically eliminating enemy resistance and securing multiple sectors of the city. With each victory, the balance of power slowly shifted in his favor. His relentless advance eventually led him to the Empire State Building region, where he was once again confronted by his longtime rival—Tanaka Marsha.
The two engaged in a fierce duel, with both pilots pushing their mobile suits to their limits. However, just as the battle seemed to be reaching a climax, the White Base unexpectedly arrived on the battlefield.
With its arrival, the tide of battle quickly turned against Heirshy, as the Federation’s superior numbers and reinforcements overwhelmed his forces. Outnumbered and outgunned, Heirshy’s mobile suit sustained critical damage, eventually becoming disabled and collapsing onto the battlefield, leaving him vulnerable to execution.
Seeing an opportunity to end the fight once and for all, Tanaka attempted to deliver the final blow, preparing to eliminate Heirshy for good. However, at the last moment, Amuro Ray intervened, stopping Tanaka’s attack. Remembering how Heirshy had once spared his life during the ambush at Texas Colony, Amuro chose to return the favor, refusing to allow an execution to take place.
Despite this act of mercy, Zeon reinforcements from the Musai soon arrived, launching a counterattack that forced the White Base crew to retreat.
In the chaos, Heirshy was successfully extracted from the battlefield and taken aboard a Gaw transport craft, escaping Earth’s atmosphere and retreating back into Zeon’s orbit. From that moment onward, Heirshy would never again set foot on Earth for the remainder of the One Year War.
The failed assassination attempt on Earth, orchestrated in secret by Johnny Ridden, left Heirshy enraged. Realizing that he had been set up, Heirshy swore vengeance, declaring that Johnny would not live to see the end of the war.
Upon returning to A Baoa Qu, his battered and broken state sent shockwaves through the Zeon high command. Admiral Kycilia Zabi, upon witnessing Heirshy’s near-fatal condition, was horrified. However, neither she nor Gihren Zabi were able to uncover the truth behind the incident—Johnny Ridden’s involvement remained concealed.
The captain of Heirshy’s Musai had never been present during the conversation between Heirshy and Johnny, leaving no witnesses to confirm what had transpired.
With Heirshy’s survival, the seeds of internal conflict within Zeon had been sown. Johnny’s failed attempt to eliminate him only deepened the growing distrust within Zeon’s ranks, setting the stage for even greater betrayals as the One Year War approached its climactic final battles.

The MS-14B Z-89 High Mobility Type is an upgraded variant of the standard Z-89, featuring an enhanced thruster pack that significantly increases its speed and maneuverability. This improvement allows it to perform rapid evasive maneuvers and execute high-speed attacks, making it a formidable force on the battlefield.
Like its predecessor, the Z-89 High Mobility Type is equipped with a twin-bladed beam saber and a high-output beam rifle. The weapons remain identical to those of the original Z-89 Mecha, maintaining the same energy blade color and laser properties. However, what sets this unit apart is its unique adaptability to its pilot, Heirshy.
When Heirshy undergoes transformation from Mobile Mecha size to normal human size, the Z-89 High Mobility Type's weaponry scales accordingly.
This allows him to wield the twin-bladed beam saber and beam rifle in both large-scale mecha combat and close-quarters engagements within buildings or confined spaces.
Essentially, Heirshy and the Z-89 are one and the same, making his combat experience seamless whether inside the cockpit or in his transformed state.
The Z-89 High Mobility Type retains the core functionality of the original model while offering enhanced agility and a unique level of versatility through Heirshy’s transformation ability, making it a highly adaptable and dangerous combat unit.
