The Invasion of Corusilum commonly referred to as The Attack on Norton Base was a major engagement fought on the third year during the Zeon Civil War between the Principality of Zeon, and the Zenora Empire on the newly constructed Zeon colony of Corusilum in UC 0099.
Despite such a small force that Zenora had and the colony having strong defenses, the colony fell mostly due to Zenora Imperial commandos being inserted secretly behind Zeon lines and destroying Xon Industries, preventing the Principality from constructing or repairing Mobile Suits.
Although the Commando's were eventually executed, the attack began on the colony with a Zenora Imperial army of over 788.
Though the first attack was repelled, the second would overrun the colony after Zenora managed to gain control of Zeon's old Solar ray system allowing it to fire on Corusilum weakening the defenders and killing thousands.
The fall of Corusilum would deal a strong blow to the Principality of Zeon war efforts on losing one of there Space industries, and first constructed colony. A grand total of about 429 Mobile suits that were on the colony at the time of the attack were lost to the Zenora Empire which would soon be used on Operation Torment, that was initiated immediately after the fall of Corusilum.
