The Second Battle of Side-9 commonly referred to as, The Principality's Return to Side-9 Was a strategic engagement that took place in the last months of Operation Nexus Storm, during the Principality of Zeon's official counter attack against Nexus Sector in June of UC 0097, in order to reclaim the colony from Zenora, following the disastrous Massacre of Zeon forces on the Colony that took place a year prior in October of UC 0096, which led to the start of the Zeon Civil War.
Despite multiple hardships including the Siege of Eurwin City, the Principality of Zeon would succeed in the War on the ground, but would fail in the Liberation of neighboring Colony Sierra, due to the first wave being defeated and instead diverted directly toward Side-9.
During the events of Euriwn City's Siege, General Adams would be killed in action on June 5th, UC 0097, and would eventually be replaced by Sarah Hal, who would then go on to okay the No Mans Land Offensive, which broke the Siege completely by June 7th, UC 0097. The Principality of Zeon would at last make it across the Arba River on the Orcosa side, and would eventually continued its blitz along the continent until the Fall of Fort Concade on June 14th, UC 0097 effectively destroying Zeonra's last stronghold on Side-9 and at last liberating the colony.
However, during the initial engagement, Heirshy was ambushed by Zenora forces on June 9th, UC 0097 while he was on a raiding mission within the Ocossa Forest region in Orcosa, leaving his entire squadron dead and him badly damaged, he would eventually be rescued by former Earth Federation Test Pilot Christina Mackenzie, a girl whom Heirshy defeated during the events of Operation Rubicon that occurred in the final weeks of the One Year War.
Christina Mackenzie who was piloting the Gundam Raven and would be taken off Side-9 for about 5 days before eventually returning back to Side-9 on June 14th, UC 0097 during the Battle of Fort Concade in order to take part in the ending.
Prior to the Events[]
Following the beginning of Operation Nexus Storm, on May 29th, UC 0097, the Principality of Zeon would begin its maiden journey toward Nexus Sector through a harsh construct of Zenora ambushes, near the moon, and a strong Zenora Defense, where a huge Space Engagement had taken place at Nexus Sectors border zone within Y-Field by June 1st, UC 0097, which resulted in a heavy fight for control and entry into Nexus Sector.
Despite heavy Zenora resistance, the Principality of Zeon were able to successfully break through Y Field while at the same time destroying the Asteroid fortresses A and B, allowing them to move toward Side-9 where they would arrive in the last hours of June 1st, UC 0097.
Engagement[]
Space Engagement[]
After breaching Y Field, and overrunning most of the Zenora forces at the Battles of both Asteroids A and B, the Fleet of the Principality of Zeon advanced toward the colony of Side-9 which had been occupied since late October UC 0096, and engaged with a large Zenora defense that lead to a clash all around the colony for control of the space in and around Side-9.
During the final hours of June 1st, UC 0097, the Zenora Empire gathered what remaining forces they had left from Nexus Sector, and engaged the Principality of Zeon, which in turn led to another bloody space engagement.
Despite furious resistance conducted by the Zenora Empire, on June 2nd, UC 0097, Admiral Kycilia's battle group was able to break through Zenora lines much more quickly then anywhere else, which in turn Heirshy covered the fleet as they approached the official gate of Side-9, where despite heavy resistance conducted by the Zenora forces, the Principality of Zeon were able to breach into Side-9, where they began to deploy ground forces that were under the command of the new generation General Heinrich Adams, where Heirshy would join the group under his command as being the first Zeon forces to land on the Colony.
This massive breach was able to allow the Principality of Zeon fleet to over run most of the Zenora Fleet in and around Side-9, further allowing the Zeon fleet to create a defense barrier in order to try and repel Zenora reinforcements coming from Sierra Colony, while at the same time sending in more reserve forces into Side-9 in order to reinforce General Adam's Ground invasion.
Landing in Side-9[]
Upon landing on Side-9, The Principality of Zeon came under heavy fire during the early hours of the ground engagement, but were able to spread out in various stages around the colony close to the entry point, where Heirshy was able to easily allow General Heinrich Adam's forces to gain victory around the Colonial elevator which in turn was vital for the Principality of Zeon as it would allow reinforcements to arrive from space, while at the same time establishing a foothold within Side-9.
However despite progress, the Zenora Empire had strong defenses, around various areas of the colony, to the point that Heirshy Char Aznable, and Lewis Treble of Javelin Squadron had to be separated into multiple areas in order to provide ground for the Principality of Zeon, whom at the time were taking causalities. Char Aznable was able to claim Hill 1187, that was known to have been vital at the time of the first hours of the ground engagement, in which allowed General Adams to send in artillery units in order to provide hammering on various areas around Side-9.
The victory on Hill 1187, along with the rapid expansion of Genral Adam's forces was seen as a great victory within the eyes of the General.
Battle for the Colony[]
Taking advantage of the scattered Zenora forces, General Adams attempted to keep pressure on the Zenora Imperial defenders by spreading out his own forces into multiple directions, where during the time of this strategy, the Zenora Empire would end up pinned all over the continent of Averkara, with the exception of the North.
During the course of this expansion, the Principality of Zeon was able to claim Orga City, and other military instillations. During the campaign, the Principality of Zeon despite receiving heavy fire from the Zenora Empire, was able to gain vast territory among the entire perimeter, granting General Adams an edge on the battle field.
However, seeing that the troops under his command were constantly advancing on every front, General Adams chose to launch a spear head blitz Northbound toward the Arba River, a vital river that separated the colonial continents of both Averkara and Orcosa.
During the last hours of June 2nd, UC 0097, going on to June 3rd, General Adams led the Principality of Zeon in their blitz attack toward the Arba River, carving their way through intense Zenora Resistance, where by the night of June 2nd, UC 0097, the Principality of Zeon was able to liberate and retake both the cities of both Agontha, Patsakio, and Eurwin City the major Port city that lays on the Arba River, that connects with the Oakla Bridge to the neighboring city of Yarcorda on the other side of the river on the Orcosa side.
Despite this victory however, the Zenora Empire taking advantage of the largest Zeon forces being concentrated on the Abra River, began to counter attack various regions close to the Eurwin City ara, to the point that they were successful in Encircling General Adam's entire army within the Euriwin City area completely cutting them off from the rest of the Battle of Side-9, and entrapping them to the North behind enemy lines, while at the same time reclaiming the city of Patsakio.
This in turn would eventually turn from a lignting Blitz into a deadly Siege, that would eventually be known as the Arba River Campaign.
Arba River Campaign[]
Upon being entrapped by the Zenora Empire, General Adams still believing and sensing victory while being completely blinded by his past victory on Side 3, when he at the time was just a normal Infantryman whom he and his squad held off waves of overwhelming Zenora forces at that time, continued to remain the course of his lightning blitz against the colonial nation of Orcosa, and devised a strategy in order to cross and claim the Oakla Bridge, which was the only known bridge crossing over the Arba River, as due to the rivers depth, it would be impossible for mobile suits to jump and walk across, as the immense pressure would crush them.
His plan was made for his most powerful force, which mainly composed of Old Generation soldiers, which included Heirshy and Lewis Treble of the Principality of Zeon, who were best known to have fought during the time of the One Year War, to move across the bridge and establish a beach head in the city of Yarcorda, where they were to clear out the entire city in order to make way for the rest of the army within Eurwin City to cross and continue their offensive Northbound.
This plan was immieadeitly rejected and looked down opn by the older generation soldiers, as well as Heirshy and Lewis Treble, who warned if such an attack were to occur, Zenora would destroy the Oakla Bridge, which in turn would cause a large majority of Adam's army to get cut off and eliminated, while at the same time would allow the northern Zenora forces in Orcosa to reinforce the city of Yarcorda which in turn could surround them in Eurwin City with no way of escape, and that such an attack would be considered a suicidal charge.
General Adams still blinded by victory rejected all of these objections, and went on to order the initiation of River assault, one that would be known as the June 3rd Offensive on June 3rd, UC 0097.
June 3rd, Offensive[]
The offensive began on the Afternoon of June 3rd, UC 0097, with the Principality of Zeon beginning their assault across the bridge, while encountering heavy resistance from the Zenora Imperial forces from across the river.
The engagement was leaving the bridge severely damaged, but the strength of the Oakla Bridge was still able to hold strong enough to allow mobile suit units and tanks to move across.
Despite receiving heavy losses on the bridge, the Principality of Zeon was able to hammer its way into Yarcorda City, where citizens of Yarcorda that were battling the Zenora Occupation since UC 0096, aided in the attack. This in turn temporarily turned the offensive in Zeon's favor as the Principality of Zeon were able to expand their territory within Yarcorda City, but intense heavy resistance conducted by the Zenora Empire including troops hiding in the ruins forced a stalemate in the offensive and didn't allow the Principality of Zeon to advance any farther into Yarcorda City, this in turn would force the Principality of Zeon to barricade most of the road ways and block off certain sectors of the city as they were deemed too dangerous to approach without taking heavy casualties.
During the course, the Zenora Empire unleashed multiple counter attacks against the Zeon occupied sector of Yarcorda City, where each attack would be repelled through the help of both Heirshy and Javelin Squadron. These attacks would continue non stop until night fall, when a full scale surprise counter offensive struck the Principality of Zeon which in turn lead to a huge loss of life during the offensive.
With the use of a new experimental War Bison, the Zenora Empire were able to not only wrestle back the city blocks that the Principality of Zeon had taken over hours earlier, but also eliminate the Zeon Resistance group that was aiding the principality of Zeon as they all died covering their retreat back across the Okala Bridge.
While moving across the Okala Bridge, the Principality of Zeon were hit hard by Artillery which caused severe losses on the bridge, while at the same time led to Javelin Squadron to engage the War Bison. Despite such a heavy engagement, and loss of life of the Principality of Zeon's side, Javelin Squadron was able to sabotaged the War Bison finally, but could not save the Okala Bridge from getting destroyed by a heavy barrage. As a result of fighting their way back, Heirshy covered Javelin as they tried to jump across the bridge back into Eurwin City, only for Private Kayama Hiyosho who was a Cyber NewType and member of Javelin Squadron to die from the rounds of the Barrage.
The offensive's failure led to what the Old Generation soldiers had feared, as Zenora completely now had a death grip on Eurwin City, and all means of escaping the region was now cut off, General Adams in the aftermath of this disastrous offensive would be looked down upon by the Older Generation of soldiers, and completely hated by Lewis Treble in the process, General Adams would never recover from this terrible offensive, and his ego and hopes of victory would be forever deteriorated and replaced with guilt, Sorrow and depression throughout the next 2 days of the Siege.
Siege of Eurwin City[]
Following the disastrous June 3rd, Offensive, the Principality of Zeon under General Heinrich Adams ended up entrenching themselves hard around Eurwin CIty to the North and Agontha City to the South, where during these periods of time on June 4th, UC 0097, the Zenora empire had continued to launch full counter attacks against both North and South, further forcing Adams to dvide his forces between his forces watching the river to the North, and watching the plains to the South.
Zenora would keep up these attacks for about 2 whole days, but it was stated by a citizen who resides in Eurwin City, that these attacks occured every 10 minutes, this in turn would cause the Principality of Zeon's ammunition supply to run out, to the point that they would have to salvage weapons from Zenora forces, both Infantry and Mobile Suit alike.
The attacks in the South were known to be so severe, that every time the Principality of Zeon repelled a wave of Zenora forces, it ruined the entire plain to the point that villages and towns that use to reside on the plains, were now devastated and left in ruins, and that any trees that were around were almost completely non existant. The attacks in the South would turn the plains into a giant No Mans Land, where its grass was eventually transformed into thick wet mud, due to the constant heavy fighting that has been going on since June 3rd UC 0097.
Attacks in the North were just as bad, as every 10 minutes Zenora would strike the city of Eurwin with artillery barrages that reduced the port city into a ruined wasteland, which in turn also led to the destruction of communication relays, which prevented the Zeon forces in the city from calling for help. Everytime a new communications relay was constructed it was always destroyed by artillery, which in turn also would further allow the Zednora forces from across the river to deploy jammers which also prevented the Principality of Zeon from getting a decent signal to the fleet in space, even after they created a new communications relay in the city where Artillery had not yet struck.
The heavy fighting along with constant barrages would forced many citizens into the bomb shelters, but during the course some citizens remained outside on the streets in order to witness the fighting, some even witnessed a Zaku I yanking a Zenora mobile suit out of the shallow depths of the river, in roder to be stripped for ammo and parts, but as the Artillery strikes got worse, eventually all citizens were forced into the bomb shelters, where by the night of June 4th, UC 0097 the power in the city would eventually cease due to the heavy damage inflicted by the war.
However, not only were artillery barrages a constant problem, but Zenora forces were some how also able to send mobile suits across the river without using the bridge in order to attack the city head on, this in turn would force the Principality of Zeon in the North to expand their lines by June 5th, UC 0097, after an Airborne attack occured within the city of Eurwin, that lasted throughout the night.
During the course of the 2 days siege prior to June 5th, UC 0097, multiple Zeon companies that were else where in Side-9 had attempted to try and break the Zenora Southern lines in order to allow Adams forces that were trapped at Eurwin to escape, but with each attack none of the companies outside Eurwin City's dead line were able to prevail, thus weakening Zeon's hold on the territories they days earlier.
Second Zeon Wave Lands[]
Back in Space, Admiral Kycilia would eventually become concentered after her and most of the other Zeon Higher ups were unable to receive any feedback from within Side-9. Fearing that General Adams may have failed, orders were instructed for a second wave of Zeon mobile Suits and ground infantry to be sent into the Colony, where by June 4th, UC 0097, a large fleet of Gaw Carriers had entered the Colony and deployed reinforcements, where it was eventually revealed that some of General Adams forces were pinned down and scattered, due to the majority of his forces being trapped at Eurwin City, which as a result led to the Zenora forces on Side-9 being able to combine their forces and reclaim some of the territory that was lost in the previous days.
Reinforced by the second wave, the pinned down forces were able to launch a successful counter offensive against the surprised Zenora forces who were not expecting a second wave to show up, which in turn allowed the Principality of Zeon to reclaim most of the territory they lost in the Zenora offensive, while also overrunning most of Averkara, this in turn would force some of the Zenora forces out of the Southern lines from the Eurwin Siege lines in order to try and counter attack, but this tactic would eventually fail.
With the entire continent of Averkara on the verge of being secure, the Zeon reinforcements by June 5th, UC 0097 soon would divert their forces to the East and North, one to finish off the remaining territories in Averkara, the other one to breach the Zenora lines in the North and finally free the trapped Zeon forces in Eurwin City that had been under siege for the past 3 days.
Final Days of the Arba River Campaign[]
By June 5th, UC 0097 attacks around the Eurwin Area stopped temporarily (Mostly due to the Zeon Second Wave), finally giving the Principality of Zeon a chance to ease themselves, after having to witness 3 none stop days of attacks and heavy barrages.
During the course of this small stalemate, General Heinrich Adams and his officers along side Heirshy (who were unaware of Zeon's second wave into the colony) made their way South in order to check out and inspect the Southern Perimeter in order to see if there was any gaps in the defenses that need filling, only for this innocent inspection to soon turn into a heavy battle.
By late morning, the Zenora Empire launched a surprise offensive along the entire Southern section of Eurwin, forcing every one of the Zeon soldiers back into their positions, and General Heinrich and his officers into addressing and rallying the troops.
As the fighting proceeded around the entire perimeter, the Principality of Zeon was able to hold out against multiple waves of Zenora forces, until a single weaken spot in the Eastern defenses broke and Zenora was able to storm and over run the suburbs of Agontha, forcing most of the Agontha reserve forces that were north outside of the city to enter and engage, but were constantly cut down, which in turn forced reinforcements from the East to enter the city before Agontha would gets overrun.
Battle of Agontha[]
The Battle in Agontha was not going well for the Principality of Zeon as Zenora was consantly rolling them back, block by block, until eventually they were stopped at Carthowl Ave, which was located in the heart of Agontha. Wave upon wave of Zenora forces would attack the Ave, as it eventually became clear that the Zenora Imperial forces were all concentrated on Carthowl, which gave a few Zeon mobiles suits that were fighting in the ruins of the city a chance to slowly wrestle back blacks that were lost in the Invasion, as well as giving Zeon ground troops a chance to also retake some blocks.
During the course of the engagement however, these small regains were nothing, as Zenora's forces kept on flooding the city, to the point that nearly 87 percent of the city was under Zenora rule.
However despite this, the defenses outside the city were still holding strong, in the East and West, despite the gap in the east, which allowed Zenora reinforcements to enter through the Suburbs.
After many attacks on Carthowl had failed, the Zenora EMpire began to pound the city through the use of airstrikes, which in turn weaken the Principality of Zeons defenses even more, but just before the Zenora Empire could launch one final attacdk that would finally smash through the Zeon barricade at Carthowl, General Heinrich in a mobile suit arrives with reinforcements from the western defenses, which in turn, turns the tide for the Battle of Agontha. These reinforcements were able to arrive due to the Western defenses holding out long enough forcing the Zenora forces attacking that sector to retreat, thus Genral Heinrich Adams, who was riddled with Guilt and regret for launching the June 3rd Offensive, rallied the western defenders and organized a successful counter attack against the city, in hopes of righting his wrong.
The counter attack succeeds in saving the city, as the Zenora Empire is forced back into the Suburbs where they are later ejected and forced to retreat across No Mans Land, allowing the destroyed Eastern lines to be plugged up.
Despite this victory, General Adams is killed in action, when a Zakura Shock Mobile Suit fired a rocket toward his mobile suit destroying it and killing him instantly, before being destroyed itself by a Dom. Despite his mistakes on June 3rd UC 0097, and his death sparking mixed reactions amongst the troops within the Eurwin City area, General Adam's sacrifice that saved Agontha, would allow the Old Generation Soldiers that once looked down upon him, to forgive him, Heirshy and Lewis Treble included.
Zeon's Last Offensive[]
Following the Battle of Agontha, and General Adam's death, it now became clear, that the Zeon forces around the Euriwn area would have to break out of this siege now, or face death.
It was eventually revealed from scouts that Zeon forces were on their way from the South and were about to converge against the Zenora Southern lines. This in turn would lead to both Heirshy and Treble coming up with the Southern Offensive, where with the help of an unknown civilian, would unleashed their entire Southern force into No Mans Land, in order to try and first claim Manky Hill in order to set up a communications array in order to find out what has been going on elsewhere on Side-9 in the last 3 days since the siege began, then breach the Zenora font lines in the No Man's Land miles away, and finally push into the city of Patsakio in order to open the gap and allow the Zeon reinforcements to enter from the South which if done could finally result in the 3 day siege finally coming to an end.
The Southern Offensive[]
The Southern Offensive commenced in the early evening on June 5th, UC 0097, where the Principality of Zeon a force of over 14,000 ground troops and about 295 Mobile suits that made up a small majority of the Sothern Defenses, crossed into No Mans Land, under heavy fire, from Zenora forces.
Despite intense resistance, the Principality of Zeon were able to break through multiple areas within No Mans land, while also taking control of a few camp sites that were outside Manku Hill, while dodging air strikes and artillery barrages that were raining down from all over.
IN order to counter the Airstrikes Zeon troops managed to capture Zenora Anti Air vehicles and turn them against the Zenora airborne assets, further shooting down a majority of their attackers and forcing them to retreat, which allowed the Principality of Zeon to continue their advance through No Mans Land for a time being without having to receive airstrikes.
Battle of Manku Hill[]
After breaking through the Zenora trench lines at the base infront of Manku Hill the Principality of Zeon continued to move through the mud, while under heavy fire from Zenora entrenchments located on the high grounds.
This defense in turn managed to stall and pin Zeon ground troops for a time being, while Zenora mobile suits kept Zeom Mobile suits away from covering their ground infantry. After repelling about 3 waves of Zeon ground forces, one Zaku II that managed to destroy a hand full of Zakuras in the distance, managed to notice the battle going against the Zeon ground infantry forces, and managed to open fire on the hill killing hundreds on th ehill top, finally allowing Zeon ground forces that were led by Heirshy to make their way up the hill.
Within moments Heirshy and his men made it to the top of the hill, allowing the Zeon ground forces and heavy armor to over run sections of the hill.
As this was happening Zeon mobile suits were also able to break through the Zenora mobile suits, where Doms, Goufs, and Zaku IIs were able to destroy parts of the hill further forcing the Zenora Empire into full retreat, allowing the hill to be taken by the Principality of Zeon.
Many Zenora forces that retreated from the hill were quickly picked off by Mobile Suit, preventing any Zenora soldiers from escaping alive.
Knowing that the hill was captured by the Principality of Zeon on the morning of June 6th, UC 0097 by Field Marshal Gordon Brendon, who witnessed the battle from Field G, ordered reinforcements and heavy artillery to be moved into No Mans Land, along with heavier airstrikes to occur, before returning to the ruins of Patsakio.
After constructing their Communication Array, the Principality of Zeon as finally able to receive a signal to Kycilia in orbit, where Heirshy and the rest of the trapped forces eventually learn that the Principality of Zeon had launched a second wave of reinforcements into the colony and that the entire continent of Averkara was completely overrun, leaving only the Zenora forces in the South at Patsakio the final bastion left on Averkara, and that eliminating them would not only break the siege, but eliminate Zenora from the nation of Averkara completely.
Assault on Field G[]
Zeon renewed its offensive deeper into No Mans Land, where the destroyed terrain had managed to form giant muddy hills that would provide excellent cover for both mobile suits and ground infantry alike, this in turn allowed the Principality of Zeon mobile suits, such as Zaku IIs and Doms to hammer Field G, but were also under furious artillery fire, while moving along the route.
During the course of the engagement the Principality of Zeon would end up losing a few mobile suits in the intense barrage along with a couple of more from the Filed G defenses, which would cause some of the Mobile Suits in the principality of Zeon to become pinned, this would force the Zeon infantry to find an alternate way to to try and attack FIeld G on their own.
Unfortunately, reinforcements from Patsakio that were mainly brought in by transport helicopter, or military dropships would eventually be flooded into No mans Land, where these Zenora reinforcements along with a few mobile suits would make their way through the Muddy Hills and assault the Zeon infantry directly, forcing them to retreat toward the ruins of Linquan, a village that was destroyed during the early days of the Siege, and was also completely covered by land slides following endless artillery rounds from both sides.
With both mobile suits and even the Zeon ground infantry pinned down, Heirshy, whom at the time was waiting for both Zeon artillery to arrive on Manku Hill in order to provide fire support, dashed down toward the front while both Artillery vehicles hammered field G with rockets and shells.
During his journey, to the infantry that were pinned down at Linquan which was identified as E-Field, Heirshy rallied a few Mobile suits that were pinned in order to join him, but as the group were making their way, they would come under attack by Zenora mobile suits, further delaying Heirshy's mobile suit reinforcements and forcing him to continue on to Linquan alone. He is unfortunately seen by a Zenora Gunship, which temporarily pins him down, while close to Linquan, but he is able to win the day by launching into the air using his thrusters and shooting the cockpit with his beam rifle, causing the the gunship to crash.
Upon finally arriving within the Ruins, Heirshy was able to aide the pinned down Zeon forces, against wave after wave of Zenora ground infantry and heavy armor, while dodging artillery barrages at the same time. Despite holding against a sizable force, the Zenora Empire deployed more forces from within the top of both the Eastern and western mud hills through the use of Dropships which in turn allowed the Zenora Empire to attack the Zeon forces from South, East and West.
With no other option, Heirshy orders an artillery strike which both Artillery vehicles located on Manku Hill, eventually opened fired obliterating a large chunk of the Zenora main force, only for a squadron of Zenora Kiyacks to arrive. The ground army is saved however, when the mobile suits that Heirshy told to accompany him earlier had finally broken through the Zenora mobile suit attack and destroyed the squadron, finally opening up the muddy road for the ground infantry to proceed.
As the Zeon ground forces proceeded through the muddy hills along with the 2 Zaku IIs, and single Dom and Gouf that Heirshy recruited in order to help, the situation worstened for the mobile suits in No Mans land as a Zenora ZHG eventually arrived and started to fire away at the muddy hills where the strong rounds started to cause severe damage to the Principality of Zeon's mobile suits hidden in the hills, which in turn forced them to dash out of the way, while using other hills for cover, while at the same time repelling Zenora mobile suit attacks, however during this turn of bad events the Principality of Zeon's ground forces were able to strike Field G from the East, completely surprising the Zenora forces, as the muddy hill path led the entire Zeon army straight to the Eastern side of the Zenora first line of defense, therefore giving them an advantage over the Zenora Empire.
This sudden turn of events finally forced pressure off of the Zeon mobile suits, allowing them to move over the mud hills in order to releaive the Zeon ground forces, while at the same time destroying the ZHG Gunner with a rocket to the head that was shot by a Dom.
By the late afternoon to early Evening on June 6th, UC 0097, the Principality of Zeon had completely overrun Field G, and now held about 3 quarters of No Mans Land now, with the city of Patsakio being only 10 miles away.
Breaking through the Patsakio Line[]
With the reinforcements and remaining Units in the South now caught up, the offensive continued, on through the remaining hours of June 6th, UC 0097 where after traveling about 8 miles into through thick muddy terrain. Unfortunately the thick deep mud would slow down the forces of the Principality of Zeon, while even drownining some infantry soldiers in the process, this in turn would force most of the Principality of Zeon's infantry units to cling onto their tanks and APCs in order to keep the pace up.
They would later come face to face with a large Zenra armored battalion that was reinforced by V4 Mech Walkers, and Zenora mobile suits, while dodging heavy mortar fire and constant artillery fire. The Battle would divide itself between the Mobile Suits and ground infantry despite such a heavy resistance conducted by the Zenora ground forces, the Principality of Zeon was able to break through and past the last side mud hill, due to a new strategy of tank to tank warfare that was conducted by Heirshy, by jumping from enemy tank to anemy tank while throwing a grenade inside causing the vehicle to explode.
As Zeon Ground Infantry entered within view of the main lines of defense, the muddy terrain finally became shallow enough for the infantry to walk on, finally allowing Zeon soldiers to deploy off of the tanks and APCs allowing them to charge the Zenora barricades while under heavy fire. Despite this including receiving fire from Zenora mobile suits hidden within the No Mans Land area, Heirshy managed to lead the ground troops into the first line of Trenches, while at the same time destroying and brining down 2 Mobile Zenora anti Vehicle turrets that were constantly keeping their mobile Suits pinned down allowing them to turn the tide against Zenora and allow the rest of the Zeon mobile suits to finally regroup with the ground Infantry in the push toward the Patsakio Suburbs.
During the course of this, Zeon mobile Troops were able to cover the Zenora MS lines of defense, while also hunting down some prototype Zenora Mobile Suit that was constantly hammering the Zeon Ground infantry units as they were making their way into the barricades of the Zenora ground forces.
With the use of heavy artillery barrages and overwhelming numbers, the Zenora forces that were heavily entrenched within the suburbs of Patsakio were eventually overrun and destroyed, finally allowing the Principality of Zeon to gain a foothold in the city of Patsakio.
However following the victory on the suburbs, the offensive was stopped temporarily on the Suburbs of Patsakio in order to give the Principality of Zeon a chance to recover following its losses in the previous 2 days, It would be from here, when Heirshy would learn of the terrible truth that the Zenora forces in Orcosa across the Arba River have heightened their attacks on Eurwin City, with even more fierce and stronger attacks, which intern would overrun the Northern Zeon defenders, if the Siege was not broken.
This would reveal that the Principality of Zeon would have to take over the rest of the city of Patsakio by morning, for if they don't, the Northern Zeon defenders at Eurwin City that was being temporarily led by Lewis Treble and Jawline Squadron would be overrun and slaughtered.
Battle of Patsakio[]
With only 13 hours left, before the Zeon forces in the North could get overrun from the entirety of the Zenora military might coming out of Ocrosa, the attack on Patsakio was launched at around 11:08 PM as soon as the remaining Zeon Southern forces had arrived and hammered its way into the city, but due to thee heavy defenses of the Zenora forces, the Zeon attack was eventually split between 3 separate areas, Herishy and the Zeon ground Infantry and Armored battalions would be engaged in the West, Zeon Zaku IIs and Goufs were heavily engaged in the center, and a the remaining Doms that took part in the engagement were fighting for control of the Eastern side of the city.
As the battle continued on for hours, the engagement at first appeared to be locked into a stalemate, as neither side was able to push each other due to the severe ruins and state that the city was left in. In fact it was even revealed that the city was in such a bad state on the West and center, that Doms could no longer hover over, and had to instead focus on the eastern side that was a lot more flatter.
However, at around 2:00 AM on the morning June 7th, UC 0097 Heirshy was able to locate a large weakness in the defenses of Zenora, where he along with a Zeon demolitions team breached the Zenora barricade and overran the Zenora Western defenses, allowing their armor to make their way deeper into the city. During this sudden turning point in the Battle, the Zaku IIS and Goufs in the center were also able to over power the Zenora forces in the center while the Doms were also successful in destroying a large Zenora airfield within the Eastern section preventing anymore reinforcements from moving into the Center and Western sections of Patsakio.
With the area clear, the Principality of Zeon launched their assault from all 3 sectors and breached the Zenora forces by 10:33 AM, where they would have the Zenora forces abandoning the down town sections and retreating into the Suburbs. Zeon's advance is stopped when 10 ZHG Mobile Suits open fire, taking out a large majority of their forces granting the Zenora Empire the time they needed in order to launch a full scale counter attack pushing the Principality of Zeon forces back into the downtown sectors and forcing them to fight a defensive battle against wave after wave of Zenora forces.
As 11:23 AM Hit, most of the Zeon soldiers fighting in Patsakio including Heirshy himself, grew sad and depressed thinking that now they could not break the Zenora offensive and open up the line wide enough for the reinforcements to get through, and save Lewis Treble in the North, but the tide turns against Zenora when Char Aznable arrives with the Sazabi and obliterates the majority of the Zenora ground forces, which sparked celebration amongst the trapped Zeon forces, as it turns out that their previous push into the Suburbs had weaken the Zenora Suburbs allowing the Zeon main force to easily break through and enter the city.
By 11:34 AM, all Zenora Imperial forces within Patasakio had been eliminated, with some being shot by Zeon forces, and others choosing suicide.
The Battle of Patakio ended by 11:35 on June 7th, UC 0097, where according to Heirshy finally at last had broken the now 4 day Siege of Eurwin City, and eliminated every trace of Zenora forces from the Averkara Colonial Continent, and allowing the reinforcements and main force to race North where they completely annihilated Zenora's last chance in destroying the Zeon forces that were defending the Arba River, finally stopping Zenora's attacks across the Arba once and for all.
Orcosa Campaign[]
Second Arba Campaign[]
Following the lifting of the Siege of Eurwin City, and the complete overrun of Averkara, the Principality of Zeon was able to establish an impenetrable wall on the Arba River, making it impossible for Zenora who was now battered and weakened from endless attempts at crushing the Zeon first wave during the Siege of Eurwin City completely weakening their hold on the rest of Side-9 on the Orcosa side of the Arba River.
Despite this, Zenora still was known to have a sizable force occupying the Continent of Orcosa, where they would go on to lay heavily fortify the Arba River.
However, the Principality of Zeon would cross and establish a staging area on June 7th, UC 0097 when Zeon amphibious Mobile Suits surprised Zenora forces at Port Arborca, where despite heavy resistance conducted by the Zenora Empire, the Squadron of Goggs, Z-Goks and Zocks were able to overwhelm the Zenora defenses and claim the Port, where at the same time Zeon Infantry conducted a Riverine crossing and were holding off a large bulk of the Zenora counter attack that was coming in from all over Orcosa, where the sudden arrival of Amphibious Mobile Suits that taken over Arborca would then arrive to reinforce Heirshy and the pinned down Zeon infantry forces, eventually leading to the fall of the Arba River and Zenora being forced to retreat deeper into Orcosa.
Zeon Expansion into Orcosa[]
With the Arba River back under Zeon hands, Zenora was now trapped within the colony of Side-9, with no way to escape, however, they would go on to fortify every inch of Orcosa where the Principality of Zeon would clash against them on all fronts, after Zeon Infantry forces had built pontoon bridges in order to allow the Zeon main army to at last cross the Arba River and enter Orcosa.
By From June 8th, to June 9th, the Principality of Zeon despite having to deal with severe and impressive defenses that were being used against them, were able to overrun majority of the Zenora forces eventually forcing them far from the Arba River, by June 9th, UC 0097. However, Heirshy and his men would later be ambushed while on a raiding mission behind Zenora lines on the night of that same Day, but would be rescued by Christina Mackenzie in Gundam Raven, before being brought off of Side-9 and up onto the Tokogayian in space in order to get healed.
Heirshy would be out of action for over 5 days, where during the course of the 5 days, the Principality of Zeon was able to overrun majority of Zenora forces to the point by June 14th, UC 0097, all Zenora forces would abandon every terrain within Orcosa and concentrate majority of their defenses along Fort Concade within the forests of Cantasakoa. At this point the Principality of Zeon was able to start deploying a large majority of both Hizack and Geara Zulu Mobile Suits, which despite being in short supply, they were known as the only modernized Mobile Suits they actually possessed at the time of UC 0097, where they would then go on to take over the role for the battered Zaku Is and IIs, which many had been lost during the course of the engagement and Siege of Eurwin City.
Siege of Concade Fortress[]
The first Principality of Zeon forces entered the Cantasakoa forest on June 12th, UC 0097, where they ended up having to come face to face with Zenora infantry, heavy armor, artillery and mobile suit units. The first attack was led by Char Aznable who managed to force his way through the first line of Zenora defenses, but a Zenora counterattack forced him out.
However, by June 13th, UC 0097, Char Aznable would try again and this time with the use of both Geara Zulu's and Hizack Mobile Suits, allowing the Principality of Zeon to fight their way deep into the Cantasakoa woods eventually securing 50 percent of it, but intense fighting within the forest would lead to an uncontrollable forest fire, that decimated the entire region killing thsounds on both sides.
By June 14th, UC 0097, Heirshy despite not being fully healed, would return back to Side-9 and would take part in leading the Principality of Zeon in the Battle of the Smoldering Woods, eventually breaking through Zenora lines, and officially allowing the Principality of Zeon into Fort Concade where Zenora was eventually overrun, and the fortress was recaptured finally ending the Second Battle of Side-9 and bringing an end to Zenora's 9 month occupation of the Zeon colony.
Aftermath[]
The Battle concluded by the early dusk of June 14th, UC 0097, allowing the Principality of Zeon to commence Operation Debris Field in hopes of breaking through the Demarco Debris Field, and attack Sierra Colony, which unfortunately thanks to the failure of the first wave occurring in early June, the Zenora Empire was able to completely reinforce the colony while at the same time heavily entrench the shattered remains of the Demarco Debris Field, forcing the Principality of Zeon to take the dangerous route through the remains of Demarco Colony just to get to Sierra Colony, as Zenora had heavily rigged space all around Sierra making it impossible for the Zeon Fleet to move through without receiving heavy losses.
This would instead force them to move through the Debris Field, where Commander Garma Zabi would devise Operation Debris Field where the Fleet would have to not only avoid the heavily entrenched Zenora forces hidden within the asteroid field, but they would also have to watch out for pieces of the Colony that could tear a Musai or Dolos Carrier apart, in hopes of breaking through and making it to Sierra Colony.
Heirshy at the end of this engagement had not fully healed following the Ocossa Ambush, and was still 45 percent damaged, to the point that once and a while he would cough up sparks, but he would eventually be healed completely by August 1st, UC 0097 during the Battle of the Demarco Debris Field.
